As we are now coming close to the release of BFA Prepatch, lets all take a moment to reminisce the brutal Legion Invasion Prepatch... An infamous event that holds dear memories for some, but for others, can cause severe post traumatic stress at the mere mention of it.

Were you one of the privileged few to achieve full warforged (+ iLvl 10) gear on your twink, which to this day, is pretty much BiS for most classes and brackets? Or like me, and many others of the fallen few, were plagued by the horrific drop chance and live to regret it daily since?

For my treasured Level 20 twink (link to armoury found below), I managed to achieve four pieces of iLvl 30 gear and five pieces of Ilvl 35 gear, out of a total of nine pieces of gear. A humble effort, I must admit, but still one that traumatises and fills me with regret to this very day.

If only I grinded more... if only I wasted more of my free hours hopelessly grinding the Legion invasions but alas I was busy with far more important things, like going outside and socialising with friends. I could've grinded more...I could've gotten full Ilvl 35 gear.... but I didn't. I just didn't.

i didnt miss a single invasion event on my 19 hunter, i remember the whole event was about 2 weeks long, and i found out about the BiS twink gear about 4 days in... i told my gf... sorry i cant work for another 2.5 weeks, i've got to grind.. i slept for 2 hours wake up, walk to another invasion do them all, and sleep for 2 hours again.. i was going mad... and doing this for 2 weeks and i had all gear except for a +10 Polearm and a +10 belt. I was tired and had like 4 days left to find those things.. so i kept farming.. the next day i found my polearm, and the very last day i got my belt which was such a damn good feeling. And i hope there will be more similar events throughout WoW's long future!

ps: those 200 unopened legion boxes on my bank look so good there <3

I can't play on the PTR, not enough memory to download it on my drive xD... would be kinda cool if all those items become ilvl 30.. and then the boxes still can give ilvl 34 gear O_O... of the fireflash etc... titanforge tiatiary stats and sockets... + have a chanse to proc epic... or legendary.. with like 6 sockets. O_O

I didn’t twink until after legion. I thought the felbat pups were going to make me gold and shit. So I would do 2 invasions on my main, then do the last one over and over again until they were about to reset, then repeat. Did this the entire duration pretty much and farmed 100 worthless felbat pups. Then my friend introduced me to twinking and I feel so stupid that I didn’t start a twink long before so I could have gotten all my twinks bis. If only blizz allowed people to refund their felbat pup pets or anything for a currency to repurchase the wf invasion gear. Yet, that will never happen so I just have to regret that I missed an opportunity.
 
I was multi-logged for this event just farming like hell to get BiS gear.

It still sucks that after all this time and effort I put into my first 20 he never got a 35 iLvl weapon..
 
Yeah my Ret pal has all but 1 +10, and it’s the wep. sad thing is I also missed out on emil’s Brand like an idiot

One of the greatest pre-patches for lowbies imo. I went 6/9 titanforged but couldn’t be bothered for the full set. No regrets.

And ew Closer is such a terrible song imo, im glad chainsmokers barely get radio time nowadays
 
Im pretty happy though. I spend about 2/3rds of the time getting warforged on all my main twinks, and the last 3rd focusing on my Paladin while also having a f2p war logged. So I got a decent amount of WF across all toons. Never put all your eggs in 1 basket

I managed to get the full +10 set for my F2P while being stuck at 5/8 +10 on my level 19 although I only farmed that stuff for maybe one and a half weeks.
To me the result was quite statisfying. ^^

Does anybody know if there will be anything similar this pre patch?

Have you opened it on 8.0 ptr?
Old once ended up with ilevel 5 or 0 only.
if you get anything other than that then boxes obey the squish and are irrelevant more or less.

There is a famous movie quote that expresses all of our frustrations at this event. "What's in the box?"

When the event started it was just regular loot, then blizzard pushed a hotfix that added in warforge.. .. it was on. I ran 2 characters 18 hours a day they the whole event. I happened to be on vacation, but a staycation with nothing to do, so I hit this thing hard. I have many duplicate titanforge trying to get the last piece for warrior, but I almost completed 3 chars with titanforge. It was tough and for anyone who thinks it was easy... you crazy
