US So iLvl Scaling is a thing on Twinks

Would be interesting to compare the dps upgrade vs the health increase to figure out if gearing past 850 is worth it (guessing it probably is).

Yep it probably is, but considering that gear gets exponentially more expensive the higher the ilvl, it might not be the best decision financially speaking. Of course, if you want to just have the most OP twink go for it, but as it stand, for farming and doing instances, I'm good. Still far from earning my money back, damn twinking is expensive.

I'd guess that most the overpowered dps for 101 twinks comes from the "expansion jump" when equipping an 835 item. Higher ilvls will obviously provide upgrades but I doubt it's anywhere near as much as that initial increase.

Ok time to correct my own post, I was curious enough to sim the difference! Used my BM hunter as the base, removed all the sockets and then changed the ilvl for all the BoEs in increments of 15 ilvls.

Burst (30 secs)
835 = 689.7k dps
850 = 786.3k dps
865 = 908.1k dps
880 = 1,056.6k dps
895 = 1,243.2k dps

Sustained (3-5 mins)
835 = 394.4k dps
850 = 452.9k dps
865 = 525.0k dps
880 = 614.3k dps
895 = 724.2k dps

I imagine a big part of this was in 7.1 or 7.1.5 I forget which, but when they increased the main stat value on items to make ilvl upgrades easier to figure out for 110s and not based on secondary stats as much it probably had a profound effect on us as 101s, because devaluing secondaries didn't do much to us because point for point we get more out of it.

Anyone saying they're having issues killing things on twinks should be taken with a grain of salt. My 826 ilvl mm hunter is still soloing dungeons and what not and even murdering 110 mobs in suramar stopping me from herbing at times with 0 change.

So just wanted to check out about he ilvl with the scaling health and yeah they do scale farther after 850+. my boomkin shows up ilvl 882 because of the items i have in my bags . Haven't decided if i will upgrade my boomkin or make a new toon.

882? Jeez I'd love to see that gear, if that is the scaling for 882 doesn't seem that bad.

If the Goat only went from 299 > 349 going from (iLvL 1-849) > 882 (in bags) then we have literally nothing to worry about. Any 101 that achieves the current BiS iLvL [885, even if it's possible] will insta wreck anything with 349K Health.

I would be interested in seeing the 1st boss in NL for example with 880+ ilvl to see how much it increases from 12605k without scaling :) Anyone got time for that?

Soon enough there will be a few 101's with that high iLvL, only time/availability and heaps of Gold in the way. Current known absolute cap is 888 iLvL for a 101 wearing anything and everything in every slot, including both 810 Relics.

Why are you always lying when it comes to numbers? No, your druid does not have item level 882. Not even close to that. I don't get you in that part. But well ...

not equipped.
To have 882, even not equipped, you'd have to possess a mix of 885-890 in every slot (888 is the known Cap for Leather+ Armor Classes). If you do, why the fook aren't you wearing it?

@WTB SHADOWFANG 2 I'm not arguing that you don't possess 882 worth of Gear, my question is if you DO have Cloth+Leather+Off pcs that are all 885-890, why not wear them on that Druid? I get that you're not sure which 101 you want to focus on but at the same time why not show off your masterpiece if you've got it amiright? Bear in mind, with that kind of iLvL you would literally be the highest Geared 101 in all of NA/EU (that we're aware of), that's something to talk about right there.
