Shadowlands Pre-Patch Check List

Timeline affecting it would be strange, but when I rolled through The Pits right after the news came out, I highly doubt I was kitting things that had just spawned. There were far too many of them. And they still gave me lowered items.

Changing the timeline doesn't affect it tried it on my lvl 10 and got ilvl 14

Well, if it isn't that or the fact that the mob spawned before the hotfix went out, I don't know.

Maybe it could be one of the following things:

1. Possibly having someone else in your party of an appropriate level overrides the outcome for you in some way. I doubt this one, but I suppose it is possible.

2. They cannot remove the old item from the mob drop list entirely in the hotfix, but they can add the scaling version in there which overrides it. Meaning, in order to get the original item, you have to fail the RNG of getting the new item while succeeding at getting the old item. This would seem rather convoluted, but who knows.

I guess more testing should take place.
[doublepost=1603342087,1603341457][/doublepost]Okay...so I took a 50 out there to do some testing...I killed most of the Talador mobs because it seemed like those would be likely candidates to test.

Kurlosh dropped his dagger, and went I went down to loot it and hovered over it, it was an ilvl 58 item with a required level of 50. However, when it went into my inventory, it became an ilvl 46 item with no level requirement.

I then did the Sargeras War Council group and got a cloak where both the item when hovered over and looted were both 44 with no level requirement.

Something wonky happened with their coding. Going to test more.
[doublepost=1603342360][/doublepost]Okay...uhh, so I tested a theory again even more...

I started to kill the non-apexis mobs on my 50 and started getting items with no level requirement again.

So...not only could they have broken something, it may be temporarily broken in our favor. I looted an ilvl 48 empty crawdad trap from mr pinchy that had no level requirement.

It's absolutely ridiculous that they are going to GREAT LENGTHS to nerf all this shit, but not actually nerfing the people who got it fast enough? Twinks still have ilvl 63 HoA pieces, twinks still have ilvl 49+ artifact weapons, us people who used apexis rares still have ilvl 44 gear, what happens when a there is a new f2p player? They are just completely fucked in how far they can get gear wise and will just forever by shat on by every single other person? Seems absolutely unfair.

Grandfathered items before were never this completely game breaking and were more of a cool prestigious thing like "hey look I twinked in vanilla/tbc/wrath!" but having grandfathered gear just straight up make you 4x better than anyone who can't get it seems a bit silly. Why nerf the dropped gear, but not nerf the gear the players already have? And I say this as someone who probably made it out pretty lucky in terms of sockets (https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/moon-guard/lilint).

I have 2k more health than a fresh 29 could hope to get. I have raid gear that a fresh 29 can never get again. I have ilvl 44 weapon level damage that a fresh 29 can never get. I have a ring that can be enchanted with accord enchants that a fresh 29 can never get. I have sockets that can use cataclysm-legion gems (though pandaria/draenor/legion all get scaled down massively).

If they wanted to make a safe space for new players and f2p players to not get shat on why remove the acquisition of the gear, but allow twinks who took advantage of it to keep it? All this does is shit on new/returning players. If they left the gear in, then f2p players would have something to look forward to. Something to do in the game. Something to work towards. I really don't understand it.

Did you get the trinket and no lvl requirement stuff on your 50 or your 20? Also, the empty crawdad trap is from nagrand which we cant loot :(.

Looking solid. Lucky pull on the secondary stated chest and helm. Seems like you came out with everything but the 44 wrist and one 44 ring.

Yeah, I agree, I'm sure they'll fix it in the future. (if not Rip F2P bracket). I have an almost fully 44 level 10 and I don't really plan to pvp at 20 if this shit stays broken tbh

Ran around wod with a lvl 50 and lvl 10 grouped together killing all the rares we could find.

The lvl 50 got ilvl 48 gear that requires lvl 40 to use.

The lvl 10 got mainly ilvl 14 gear with some ilvl 44 gear.

so some of the rares haven't been fixed yet imo
