Shadowlands F2P Warrior Guide

While we're on the subject of weapons, maybe something should be added about the fact that the fury artifact can be used for both arms and fury, so you get more bang for your buck using your limited epic upgrade rolls for that.
eh, if you're trying to min/max relic usage, I'd argue that the better play is arms artifact/rivendare sword for people who dont want to roll SMF w/cudgel. Fury artifact is less flexible than arms.

Debatable I guess. It's definitely a little less damage to use arms/rivendare, it's just a question of whether the additional effects you get are worth it (heal/speed). The heal is not so great on warriors, but if the speed stacks with the boot enchant, that's pretty good.

I'm also not totally sold on SMF being straight up better than the fury artifact, although again, it is competitive. Hard to weigh the main hand ability increase, off hand ability decrease, auto attack damage decrease, strength decrease, flat 15% damage boost, sockets and proc from https://www.wowhead.com/item=27901/blackout-truncheon?ilvl=25&bonus=6710, and the difference in crusader proc rates all together.

I dont play fury enough to have exceptional thoughts on it (though thatll change because my vet only got haste necks so I guess Ill lean into fury on him) but my general thought process is that the ability damage with Cudgel is better than with ilvl 34 artifact (what my vet has, which is what I used to compare) and so will be even better against ilvl 30/31/32 artifacts available to F2P. So while auto swing damage will be a bit reduced, you're looking at better burst w/ Rampage and generally comparable numbers overall... with the added move speed.

but that really my only take on it.

well that and +style points for SMF because Titans Grip is and always has been lame as shit.

Ditto, I just have a compulsive need to theorycraft. I would test it myself, but then I think I'd have to farm up a truncheon (probably solo) and four more righteous orbs to test an inferior build of an inferior spec that I'm never going to play. Maybe someday I'll be bored enough...

Also SMF speed doesn't stack with Tuskarr's Vitality. Maybe it does with Minor Speed?

yes.

Also, Im testing it right now and with the caveat of "target dummy lol" here's what I did.

Single target, built to and then spent 10 rampages, 4 times each.

DPS for both builds hovered around 240 DPS +- 5

Artifact had the wildest swings in dps (there was one round I completely threw out because it was like... 160 dps. Just musta been shit luck for crusader) but was also more consistently towards the top end of the dmg (242-243 ish)

While SMF was consistently right around 240, though more towards the lower end (238-240ish)

And this is with an ilvl 34, not 30-32 like a F2P would have, so kudos to blizzard for pretty much nailing the balancing between titans grip and SMF at low levels.

So I gotta give the coin flip to the 5% speed boost while also acknowledging my aesthetic bias.

That said, ymmv and Im doing this in a largely crit heavy arms build, most haste could tilt the balance I suppose.

Is Sul'Thraze broken or not good? It's the combo sword from the two out of zulfarrak. That's what I am/was going for.

That one I do have, and it's OK. The proc works, it just doesn't do very much damage. It's an ilvl 26 epic 2H that you can easily solo farm on a warrior because of the Arms artifact hidden effect fearing all the trolls, gives a nice chunk of versatility. If you need an off hand to go with the bramble staff or GF'd artifact it's ok, rivendare sword is better though.

of an inferior spec that I'm never going to play.

This is how you write a guide — touches all the bases in terms of available options when it comes to decision-making and doesn’t market itself as the be-all and end-all, but clearly comes from an authority dedicated (I believe strictly?) to the class.

Now, the million-dollar question; how do we get more people to write guides?!

Disclaimer: I would if I had enough knowledge of any class/spec this expansion.

Anyone do any testing with ironfoe+ele force? Looked it up and posts from 2 years ago say the extra attack procs a lot. What do you all think? Would I be wasting my time farming it? I'm a sucker for gimmicks.

Edit: i would consider it a waste of time if it was over 10% less damage than a legion artifact with crap relics.

Mind if I ask some advice? I only got a single crusader for my warrior and paladin, thinking ele force was best for fury before my time ran out, and i'm trying to decide what to do with it. Originally i planned to put crusader on sulthraze and use that for both arms and fury, with rivendare offhand, and using the aoe mace from zf for tanking. After reading this I started the quest chain for cudgel but now I'm thinking I should put it on that for tank/fury. I prefer arms since thats what my main has always been, but, considering how new my warrior is and how much I'll be tanking to build sets and farming ilvl28s, I figured maybe this is more efficient use of the single crusader i have in the long run. Hell, outside of pvp, fury is easier to use anyway. I do have 3 ele forces though, so my arms artifact wouldnt be THAT bad in the meantime.

I'm confused about the legion artifacts, too. I thought they red out if you're not the appropriate spec. If I put crusader on arms artifact and i use that for fury with some other 2h in offhand, maybe rivendare, and have the results be halfway decent? I've got pandarens step enchant, though, not minor speed. Didn't even find u guys till my sub ran out.

Nope, you can use any artifact for any spec (even though they say they require their given spec).

For arms, slap crusader on your (either arms or fury) artifact and you're good to go.
For fury, you can run fury artifact, arms artifact + other 2H, or cudgel + other 1H. They are all fairly comparable. In any case, you are gonna want 2x crusader for best results.
For prot, who cares it's prot. You can tank dungeons without crusader.

So to cover the most ground with 1x crusader, I'd put it on either the arms or fury artifact main hand to use for both arms and fury. But really the answer is to just level enchanting/get more crusaders. Even for arms, you ideally want another crusader on the prot artifact for switching to sword + board.

Thanks! I'll go with arms artifact for now, i guess, since I prefer the spec and since itll also be comparable for fury. Just got cudgel too, so thanks a ton
