I did forget to mention. The CoC would less like the Magna Carta and more like the Constitution. As the US is a republic and each state has it's own acting form of government. That would be a better analogy.

Having posts or threads edited or deleted is really frustrating for some people, it feels like censorship or a mod having a grudge, especially if there actually is a grudge. It can happen to any mod; if you butt heads with a person often enough you automatically get more sensitive where they are concerned.
Having people see vulgarity as the best option to relay their opinion and equate free speech with being an ass at all times is really frustrating to others.
Maybe create a separate subforum in the spirit of the old Tavern to move really agressive discussions to?
We have one, it is called General Talk. What difference does a title make?
You have to realize, some people(not all) have in their head that they are too good to intermingle with other people from other brackets. That is why "general talk" threads get put into bracket forums. Those threads should be relocated.
Example:
http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f12/you-scared-pussies-70683/
Does this belong in the 19's? What does it have to do with the 10-19 bracket? If a new twink were to come to this website and see this they may never come back.

It's the culture of said bracket, yes it may not exactly have to do with 19 twinking overall, but it's almost like a recurring joke for long time members, it's like a reward for us old timers to see these threads pop up and get a kick out of people kicking up a fuss about it, and those that stick around long enough will see the cycle repeat.
Is this the best way to get new people involved? Probably not. But the bracket is very set it in its ways, and taking out common "memes" like Curleys ego would just diminish what players are really getting themselves into.
The best two replies so far!!
If this site stands a snowball's chance in hell of ever being recognized by Blizzard, these are the rules we must abide by. Try and post some of the crap you all post on WoWhead, MMOChampion, AK etc.... You would get tossed off of there in no time flat.
Why it is tolerated here is quite note worthy. And frankly, it is very interesting. I am glad I came here.

I was thinking more of a no moderation at all subforum instead. Maybe it's a bad idea. ^^We have one, it is called General Talk. What difference does a title make?

What is there to question? The motive is to be as obnoxious as humanly possible. It is pretty obvious.Sometimes I question my assumptions about your motvies lol

twink info is absolutely perfect right now, you've done an excellent job Myrm.
Sometimes I question my assumptions about your motvies lol
I'm aware you are, though your join date is 2012 which isn't all that old, despite being a vet.
Anyways, I've been really happy with how twink info has been since Myrm took over, as a natural anarchist I believe free reign is the best methodology, earn your stripes!
I think it may appear this way because mods respond mostly to reports. If something is reported, it's reviewed and likely acted on. If it's not reported, it may be missed by a mod. I could see this appearing like the mods are being unfair, but it's more likely that attention was brought to one issue and not another. It's annoying to the community when a CoC exists yet the mods pick and choose which rules they enforce.

Unfortunately that thread has everything to do with 10-19s because Curley is a well established clown in the 19 bracket and the 19 bracket only. In my opinion that disgrace of a thread should have been removed within 5 minutes of it's publication. Along with all the other stupid ass threads that moron wastes our time with. At the same time I do agree with Saxxon that sometimes threads like Curley's are a breath of fresh comedic relief when the forum is otherwise clogged with Stream threads or other boring content. I just personally find Curley's to be especially obnoxious. This is going to be a tough issue to tackle because it's very tough to draw a line in such a grey area and a polarizing issue in the community.
Back on topic - The biggest thing I have noticed as a problem was outlined well by both Mocha and Yde. It's annoying to the community when a CoC exists yet the mods pick and choose which rules they enforce. They also pick favorites such that certain members of the community can get away with infringing on the CoC while others are unfairly punished due to a grudge, etc. My suggestion would be to make every suspension/ban enacted by a Mod to be public and the explanation clear and concise. I also would not be opposed to allowing community members to appeal the punishment, or at least express their opinion for or against it. Whether their argument is valid or invalid, I don't think it would hurt to have this option.
I'm thrilled, Myrm, that you are addressing this and putting it to the community so we can settle the pertinent issues autonomously. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with and contributing my opinions where I can. Cheers.
