Still, it takes 2 copper bars to make one delicate copper wire. It takes 8 rough stones to make one statue.

It is more efficient to make the copper wire. Not to mention those wires can be used to gain more skill-ups once the delicate copper wire recipe goes gray.

The stones can be put to better use in another profession.

I never said that making stone statues is the best way to level, but you're gonna get stones anyways, which have no other use past making statues and making them decreases the amount of ore/bars needed, hence it decreases the total amount of materials needed which decreases the amount of time spent farming which decreases the amount of time spent to finish JC and move on

RNG can be painful

It took me 5 years with about 150 contests to get it on my 19 hunter so that should give you an idea about how bad it can get but it will never be worse than that.
