Premades and Realid/battletag

A point system seems a little bit too much to do unless you had some fucking master fellowship of the twinks council and even then people are gonna argue their rating.

I like a draft system/captain picking teams, but choosing captains could be a problem. I think if we went with 3 for each side it could work out without much drama assuming the people picked aren't all from the same guild/clique. Would also allow for the captains to be rotated in and out since I think it would be unfair if one person got to stay in as much as they wanted. Later on there may be less need for people to be in leadership roles, but for now I think we'll need some so hopefully we can do it without being fucking drama queens and shit.

So give suggestions on 3 captains for each faction. At least one of the 3 has to be from bleeding hollow.

Draft w/o some sort of system to keep the teams fair is gonna result in one sided games

The captains on each side would be in charge of keeping the games fair. It's essentially the same thing as the point system since the people who would be giving out ratings are probably going to be the captains. You get the same result without having to attach numbers to people.

I think there needs to be a way for everyone available for that night to sort of sign in so we know who will be on to play

To stray away from the imbalance of pugs, I think a class limit of 2 and a druid limit of 1 per team would be great.

More restrictions results in hampering the team picks. The captains will pick the best people they can because they want to win.

Then they shouldn't be captains. These games are meant to be fun and promote competitive activity in the bracket. Not to see who can put together the best team. That's what guild vs guild premades are for.

While I respect the sentiment I don't think you can really plan something with expectations of people goin against human nature.

Whilst i realize that some of you were young when i met you and possibly have matured over the past 7 years, I still get a chuckle out of seeing people who were asshat elitists back then talking about being fair to the newbies. Its nice though, keep it up!

There should be 1 captain for each side. Naturally, the captain will pick the best players he can. If both captains are doing this then both sides will be equal since the better players will be mixed with the lesser ones. One side can't get all the better players if the other side is picking them too!

Yeah, although balance between teams doesn't seem to be the issue. The only downside to this system of "Team Picks" is people that are not as good/aren't well known/haven't forged those bonds will be left out - which while it sucks in the short term has the possibility of having a greater, more positive effect in the long term. The people that don't get picked and just give up usually aren't the kind of person that a captain would pick regardless of their current skill level, but on the other hand the people that aren't quite up to par, who form or have a desire to get better will use that drive to work and improve. Which in turn -theoretically- creates a higher skilled community.

These opportunities shouldn't be handed out to people just "because" or due to attendance, there has to be a little more to it then that.

Although raw experience is great, it would be nice to see a little initiative from "up and comers" to do more than just play the gulch.

If we're rotating people I don't see an issue with everyone having a fair chance. My only concern is finding 2 captains who are active and non-biased enough to make picks that will lead to good games.

That's the advantage of having multiple captains.

Sooo after talking to my right hand man Fort for a bit about the bracket I came up with an idea for captains. I haven't actually talked to any of these people so I have no idea if they even want to and they are just suggestions at this moment. Wanted to find people who had good knowledge of the bracket and could act as representatives for some of the major guilds.

Horde
-Pizza: I know everyone hates him but he is 19s. From his posts in this thread it seems he shares my vision for this and will do what's needed to make it work.
-Painaid: 19 hero and respected by all. Will stand up to Pizza the villain if needed.
-Drugs: LSFTW seems like one of the most active guilds in the bracket so having their GM seems good. Fort vouched for him (maybe is kozi? idk)

Alliance:
-Kitn: GM of the top alliance guild, Fort supports.
-Sneaky: Fort's suggestion. Lethal Synergy seems like one of the more active alliance guilds and he's extremely active on these forums. Seems like a good rep for those outside of the big guilds.
-Tombradymonk: I didn't have any other good ideas for the 3rd spot. Outside of Train Cow I haven't really seen any major organized alliance guilds and I didn't want to give two captain spots to one guild. Maybe there's a Meat Puppet person who would be good for this spot.

Again I haven't actually talked to any of these people, just throwing out ideas.
