i have already aired the best idea regarding veteran ranks

players that've been a member of TI for 70% of its existence will receive a veteran rank. how it is today does the exact opposite: you gain absolutely nothing from, as seen in relation to the site's existence, being a long time member; for each year that passes more and more people will receive the vet rank making it completely worthless - like today's vet/elder ranks

Well, Elder is basically the new Veteran rank and every few years we can just create a new rank until we run out of colors. The most recent rank will always be quite rare.

tl;dr stupid stupid stupid

That would be a good idea, but such a fluid definition is sadly not very practical in vBulletin, admins would have to update the usergroup regularly.
