I copy-pasted this from a lengthy reply I made on Bnet. But I thought it was worth getting across with a few adjustments so the context makes sense.

"For you to hate on us twinks, we have very similar reasons to hate on you. Most are too lazy to realize there are other means of enjoyment of the game rather than just endgame. They praise endgame, then suddenly condemn players for sticking with that very same expansion when a new one rolls out. Hypocrisy at its finest.
But you’d be surprised to see that many people who twink are very much also into endgame, and are typically high-end arena players. Not all, but a good chunk. Also twinks tend to be some of the largest of collectors of vanity such as TCG, transmog, and reputation, as they like to show-off their progress on lower level toons. The average twink pays more money to Blizzard for server transfers, gold (wow tokens), faction changes, and race changes. Some of the most expensive toons with high amounts of play-time I’ve come across (and I myself) are twinks, rather than endgame players. Twinks are also more likely to stick from expansion to expansion, as they have a large variety of brackets to play if endgame isn’t so good.
Imo twinks should be in high interest for Blizzard. Might be the reason they have allowed combined brackets again. Anyone who’s beaten by a twink very much has the ability to make one of their own to face them. It’s never fun being beaten by someone who out-gears you, which is the exact case for endgame as well. Endgame is simply twinking without anywhere to level beyond. If queues are separated, then nobody will ever know about twinking in a specific bracket and will never have the benefit of tasting gameplay at its fullest other than just endgame.
We are the unknown sum Blizzard fails to account for. But we are all-but-unknown to the faces we meet in the gulch, and the communities that bind us."
