March 18 - More Dungeon Gearing

Not much happened, just kept farming Dungeons, both Iron Docks and Bloodmaul Slag Mines (these updates will be really boring until I actually start farming achievements).
I had a huge lag spike during one of my Bloodmaul Slag Mine runs, while I was fighting three trash mobs, at first I thought I got disconnected and was about to die, but I got back after 2-3seconds and there was no problem.

I'm starting to get some decent gear, got an epic ilvl 87 Helm and Chest, and I got almost full ilvl 61 in the other slots (only missing Main-Hand, Off-Hand, and one Trinket), so it's not even a challenge to solo these dungeons anymore. Tomorrow my plan is to farm Ironfoe and after that I am prob good enough to start farming some achievements.

Here is a picture of my first Bloodmaul Slag Mine clear.

Welcome to the US servers.

edit: maybe limit death restriction to non-pvp only.

would be boring if you can't even BG.

So about the banning DS/Hearth, I think you should not - just to keep things interesting and extend things as long as you can. I think an "Oh, shit!" button is fine when you are just utilizing class mechanics. Obviously broken things like the two Shadowlands trinkets I'd say probably would be against the idea of what you're going for, but Bubblehearth seems fine.

So regarding the Divine Shield + Hearthstone strategy, seems like I will be allowed to do it, since it's currently 9-2 in votes to allow it.

I always thought it would be fun to try hardcore w/ BGs. Like, just how ballsy do you wanna be for those achieves?
The thing is that you wont be helpful to the team, you would just make it a worse experience for your team, you would just stay out of fights and be ready to press your /afk macro. That's what me and @Brihan did during the Original Hardcore challenge. It's not challenging, it's not ballsy, it just ruins the BG for others.

Would a warrior be able to solo as effective as a paladin?
I have absolutely no idea, maybe?

Also, no stream today, got a lot of irl work

i mean trying to pvp w/o dying is like trying to drive a car w/o fucking gasoline, diesel or batteries so yeah
Unless you literally do only premades, and play the most FOTM and fully BIS class/spec each time with an army of pocket healers like Bajheera or something. Even then it's nuts.

yeah, i wouldnt call a onesided pugstomp premade pvp either

cool man i look forward to seeing your journey, but minus 1 point for not being a cute elf.

I was thinking more like "capture the flag" and "defend bases in AB" type achievements. not just racking up HKs and wins or whatever.

But yea, i also get where having to play hardcore safely would create a pretty shitty experience for others. It's never really cool to be That Guy.

Intro
Sup y'all

I used to watch some of the Classic Hardcore videos back when they first did Road to Ragnaros back in 2021 / 2022 and now that Hardcore is making a comeback I've been inspired to try it out myself, the thing is... I don't play Classic, I play Retail F2P. So I thought I would do my own version of it: Fresh F2P Account and death = delete account.

This thread will be like my blog where I post updates about my journey, I might share some pictures, videos, or just stories about my adventure. Maybe I will even inspire some of you to try it out.

Rules
(These rules were taken from Classic Hardcore and edited a bit to fit my challenge better)

Death - You only have one life, if you die you must delete your account or leave it as a perma-ghost.

F2P Restrictions - All F2P restrictions still apply, so no trading, using mailbox, or similar allowed.

Grouping - No grouping of of any kind allowed. This includes instanced groups such as dungeon and battlegrounds. (The only exception to this is the Exile's Reach Dungeon)

Buffs & Player Interaction - World and Player buffs, and assistance are permitted, so long as you DO NOT ASK for them, or continue taking help.

Professions - No restrictions, all professions are allowed.

Player vs. Player - You can engage in open world PvP, if you so desire, However joining Battlegrounds is forbidden due to grouping.

Dungeons - Due to the grouping rule, the only way to do dungeons is by soloing them.

Talents - All talents are allowed - go wild!
Updates
Day 1 - Let the adventures begin.
Day 2 - Dungeon Gearing
Day 3 - More Dungeon Gearing
I'd been trying to get XPoff gamers to jump in HC WoW for a while no... albeit, not very often; but I'd tried. Really... HC & retail have no common ground. The Modern game is effortless in contrast to Classic. Gear is heaped on you, mobs are half as dangerous, your abilities ore beyond OP. The experience is simply not the same.
Beyond that, the REAL HC experience is the community, which is absolutely awesome!
I wish you good fortune, but I'd really much rather hear that you're rolling on Bloodsail Bucs & joining Victory or Death, or HC Militia.
You're never going to have the real HC experience otherwise.

I've decided to do some changes to my thread, I won't be posting daily updates, so I will remove the "Day x" from the updates and instead just change it to the date when it's posted, since I won't have interesting stuff to write about daily, and also since I won't play daily. I also don't want the updates to feel forced.

Now back to some feedback.

Ye... I assume u want me to play Blood Elf, but I am a Alliance player by heart, I can't change that </3
And Night Elfsdon't allow you to play as a Paladin

I mean, obviously it will be different, it's different games.
This is not trying to copy Classic Hardcore, they are after raid kills, which I don't care about. It's just that I took inspiration from their thing.

Also, I've seen some of those death clips, there is no way I would trust others to not fuck me over in a dungeon. This is also why I do this solo, I can only blame myself if I die (and maybe some lag or something, idk)

Normal PvP may not be a good idea but what about 1v1 versus other hardcore players. Let's say you would need to be ilvl 61 and not higher to avoid power gaps.
This would be a true deathmatch no pun intended.
Also getting ilvl 61 on all slots is fairly easy so it wouldn't be too much of a time loss.

World PvP is allowed, it's just queuing for Battlegrounds that are not, so you can 100% go to Gurubashi and have a fight if you want.

Classic HC is NOT about Raid Kills. At all. If anything it's really about the lowbie zones, where you're run will end, for the most part, under most circumstances. Occasionally you do get clapped for someone else's stupidity, but dungeon runs ending in tears is part of the game. It's incentive to prep as much as you can; knowing you only get one shot at an instance. There are also HC hunters out there, who pathologically grief us while out in the world, but even THAT is part of the fun.
Classic HC is about the JOURNEY & camaraderie. That's the part I MUST stress: You are NOT having the HC experience without both Classic & the Community.
All you're really doing is trying not to die in retail.
So, please. Roll on Era Bloodsail Bucs NA, or Hydroxian Waterlords EU. You will be blown away by how fulfilling it is to play with so many great people, & might find the events to be the most fun you've had in WoW in Years
