i mean so does the stinging viper maces but i found those to perform better than bg blues on enh shaman because the proc procs other procs that proc more procs and it turns into a vicious cycle. but if the proc rate is too low than its probably not worth it over say... 5-6 vers

I've done a little bit of testing with https://www.wowhead.com/item=38579/venomous-tome&bonus=4279. The cool thing is it doesn't actually strike the attacked for that damage, it strikes anyone (if not multiple people) in your proximity. So a small utility of this off-hand is to de-stealth rogues & druids that might be lurking around you. I do admit the actual chance it will proc for this purpose is probably quite rare.

Have any of you tested mw monk with a 2H for damage? Currently I'm using the Novice's Staff (weapon from vendor in serenity peak) w/ Ele Force (although I've considered swapping to Staff of the Friar), and although it seems abilities are only scaling off of amount of int, auto attack damage is significantly higher. Figured I'd test since I'm having 100% awful luck with BG crate items. not even a blue weapon/OH on my monk.

With 1H/OH I'm hitting for about 70 white hits, and with 2H I'm hitting for 120-130 white hits. Keep in mind this is a vet 20, with full fang gear etc. This seems fairly decent, but I'm not sure if anyone would find it to be worthwhile.

yea the novice staff is so good that going off hand actually doesnt make much sense until you have absolute best in slot blue bg offhand and the jagged mace with higher atk power with perfect rolls aswell

I know as f2p the difference is very minimal (spellpower wise) because of lack of enchants, and even then, when I swap to MH/OH with the int OH enchant in bgs, it doesn't increase my damage a whole lot. Probably about 2-3 points on Rising Sun tooltip?

Since I tend to play more aggressively, I feel as though staff should be considered as bis for MW who have a similar playstyle to myself.

the thing is in f2p i think the staff actually has more int than 1h/offhand in general mainhand 18int+offhand 10/11 and novice staff is 31

This is why I use, I stack intellect

If u want higher Int, more chance u will get it from a staff.
I’ve noticed a few Misty’s using Ele Force. Anyone done tests to see if Ele Force increases damage vs say extra SP?
Misty’s actually are quite good in the dps department this X-Pac, just interested to see people’s thoughts on using Ele Force.

Something new I found out to consider regarding MW weapons:

1Hander + Off-hand = around 90 Damage per Normal Weapon hit (White Damage Numbers)
2Hander Staff = 120 Damage per Normal Weapon hit
In comes a scaled version of https://www.wowhead.com/item=2072/dwarven-magestaff, which has 4.2 DPS compared to ALL other INT staves that only have 2.4. Made my Normal Weapon hit numbers get up to 130s.

I guess it comes down to 2-5 Damage off of all your skills by sacrificing some INT, or miss out on up to 40 extra damage per Normal Weapon hit.

Only situation I'd say extra SP is better is when most of your time is focused on healing (ie- mid fights). However, I also have yet to test out the Coastal Surge enchant, because it's pricey on my low pop realm, and it's said that coastal surge is equivalent to a rejuv, procs roughly 3-4 times/min. Otherwise, I've just been using Ele Force, and in games where I spend a good amount of my time doing damage, I'm in the top 3 of damage done usually with top heals, or very close to top heals.

Also, ele force is amazing when it comes to bursting down that disc, or over extending rogue/warrior, etc.

Edit- I just snagged a coastal surge for 2.5k gold, so I'll be running tests with that.
