Math Breakdown: Rogue Weapons

What about assassination rogue? Is it better to have 1.8 speed dagger in both hands or 1.8 in main hand and 1,6/1,7 in offhand.

I know these charts can be hard to read but the 2nd one has all this information. It assumes you've already selected the best MH per the chart above it and looks at possible off hands.

Not sure, if white weapons are scaled too (DMG), but if they are scaled Sunstrider Axe - Item - World of Warcraft will be probably best main hand weapon... 3,5 speed

I have this on my 19 rogue, sadly its GFed in WoD (they made the reward shaman specific and shamans can't be blood elf). It has about 50 more topend that shadowfang (I dont remember the exact numbers but say SF is 200 damage this weapon is 250). But because of Normalization - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft Shadowfang still hits better for both sinister strike and ambush. But its a fun weapon to have anyways :)

EDIT: I have a 21 rogue with this weapon, I can check out what it scales to but I can assure you it's not BiS
EDIT2: at ilevel 34 it is 9.00 DPS 22-41 damage

Speaking of normalization. How does that work? Slower mainhands still hit harder with abilities and faster offhands are still better for poisons and procs.

Slower and faster mainhands will hit the same if they are the same DPS with normalization, the only difference would be the procs (if its not RPPM system) and poison procs

Not exactly the same as the damage range of the weapon itself is not affected by normalization. Almost the same, though.

Bis for Assas is ToV x2 or ToV MH and Screwdriver OH
any math to back up tov in of hand is better then faster wep?
one would amuse person with faster hits with of hand would end up doing more dmg.
as we really speaking of 0.1% extra dmg between bis and other most commonly used daggers anyway.

Screwdriver not obtainable thus no need of discussing one.

In general I don't like doomspike, but Sentinals is a very good substitute until you get bis

doomspike was way to go at some point. maybe before everything scaled to ilvl34.

so what would math say about Doomspike - Item - World of Warcraft x2 vs Sentinel's Blade - Item - World of Warcraft / doomspike for assassination spec? kinda bane refuse doomspike x2 stillo.

I'm pretty sure Doomspike scaled less then everything else, that's why I didn't even bother to calculate.

ToV is BiS MH for sure. If you have another ToV in your OH your mut will hit harder. But your melee damage will suffer, as shown in the chart. So I guess do you want a little bit harder mut or more sustained damage with a faster poison apply?

Mut with no gear and double ToV
142.44

Mut with no gear and ToV/Balanced Heartseeker
133

So you loose 10 damage to gain another .36 damage per second. The 1.7 would look better with Sentinels also as it gives more AP then BH.

Did you even read the chart? Lol

Just because screwdriver is gfd doesnt mean its no bis, and how would i know you dont have it, just saying.

No one cares about unscaled, so i dont know why you even mentioned that

Here's a couple of the best assassination rogues world:
realhirnfrost - Viewing Profile - Arena Junkies
Mirlol - Viewing Profile - Arena Junkies
I'm not sure why their gear is blue... maybe it scales to the best? I don't play endgame so not sure. It's possible they bought a boost too...

They run 1.8 but they also don't have a choice. Fast OH is how it's always been and for melee damage it's still supported as the best. Assassination is weird at this level because Mut is your burst, not Envenom. Envenom just refreshed your SnD really, the damage is horrid. When I was looking at it a huge chunk of my damage was melee, hence why I go fast OH. I think it's close enough it's up to the user.
