US Make WSG Great Again

Does this bracket have enough to Q wsg specific? Why this bracket over 29? Considering making a 39

Yes it has plenty of ppl to q specific.

More skills, larger hp pool, extra talent tree options, multiple choices for gear slots. Balanced games, competitive scene is active, friendly community. The list goes on I'm just high

Edit: oh also its not 29s so it has that going for it

Also to add to @Sanit there are way more wargames from my knowledge that go on at 39 to add more competitiveness to it.

29s community is like talking to a wall. Any sense of community felt like it stems from only the people on your realm/guild. In fact, majority of the time I see 29s talking (which is rare), its to ask if anyone wants to group up for 19s or a completely different bracket. Totally disappointed it wasn't as open feeling as 39s, even with the huge population. Maybe our smaller bracket and lack of F2P allows us to have a better PuG experience for newcomers/loners?

Whereas, myself and numerous people in the 39s community are always sponsoring, dungo running, or rerolling and trying to incl others. We have weekly WG night, but honestly that's just the only coordinated night, the rest you can easily find a 5 man squad for BGs and frequently see like-minded groups in the Gulch.

Sunday night queues were horrendous for both specific q and random for the bracket
- worst I’ve seen since brackets combined and at like 9-10pm. Just saying, have to balance the fact that we’ll lose activity if we add 30+ minute q’s.

I saw a lot of comments in 39 chat that night about both sides specific queueing as well.

Yes, it was bizarre.

Can't remember off the top of my head, but maybe there was wargames going on and a lot weren't queuing. That can be problematic when a good chunk of the community isn't playing.

Confirmed: there was 10v10 wargames happening during this exact moment you are describing. When this happens, you can expect a vacuum of players to be gone.

Can't answer for other guy obviously but wargames weren't happening during the lulls I'm talking about.

wargames > specificbgs ;o

Lol now I see this bracket is tiny like a puddle and you won't ever grow to a point where you can have consistent wsg specific fast Qs

20-29 is like a ocean

There wasn’t wargames during my lulls either - checked both friends list and 39 group. Was one guy in eos mass in .org

That's super weird, my queues weren't too bad Sunday night. Even had an instant pop right after I switched to Horde for my last game, maybe around 11 eastern.

Outside of Sunday, they seemed pretty decent most of the weekend. CTF queues definitely slowed down around 11 pm or so (and when wargames were going on Friday apparently), but outside of that they popped alright. For every 15 minute wait, there was a back to back WSG/TP. All my randoms once things slowed down were pretty much a normal 5ish mins.

But yeah, longer average wait times are to be expected specific queuing. It's not a reason to give up on it, or not try though. Neither is one night with wonky queues for some people.

I don't see this as a one-off weekend event. It's a long-term goal for more peoples' default queue to be CTF instead of randoms, because I see it as the best way to create more evenly matched games on a day to day basis (and this is the best bracket to make that happen).

I don't want to tell anyone how to play - honestly I hate recruiting for something like this, but I think it's worth it. I just want more people to ask themselves why they queue randoms instead of WSG/TP. They might have a legit reason - some people would rather just have a beer and roll over some levelers with friends, some prefer the variety of other BGs. Maybe they have a specific reason to farm BG boxes, even if the gear's a lot less desirable than in other lower brackets.

There are a bunch of people who's answer to that question is just faster queues though. They'd rather be playing CTF maps against twinks, but it takes longer getting games. If that's your reason, just give it a chance. Specific queues will start inconsistent, but they'll get better. If more people queue, more games will pop - we have no reason to assume that the system broke in the last couple years.

There will always be people leveling through and making games pop, I don't think we'd be risking the long-term health of the bracket by giving this an honest shot.

Might be a cap to how many 39 bgs can run in public que at any given. I think it's 3.

Anything's possible, but I'd be surprised if there's an arbitrary cap like that only for lower levels. Probably just a numbers thing, maybe with a bit of healer balancing affecting it.

¿porque no los dos?

I do think there is some arbitrary cap because with some of the numbers we've had waiting for games to get done with, there easily could have triggered another instance with minimal levelers. I think due to the matchmaking system working with roles &/or some limitation, the number of games is limited. Frequently, I will see parties instantly get into a battleground as another 'lobby' closes.
