its funny, because i'm /praying it ALL goes to live :p

The only thing I'd like to keep is the leg armors, but even though I have BoA shoulder enchant and max profs it would be fair for those to be taken out.

I'd be happy if we could just keep actual enchants (+150 hp, 12 stam etc.)Those were readily available to anyone with a ilvl 35 item and money; they didn't require an 80 like with BtA's. I'm getting the feeling though that enchants might be next on nerf row (if some of the recent changes aren't glitches). We can only see!

:p

Yeah, I sappose the leg armors would be nice to keep (gettable by everyone, not crazy OP) but i would gladly remove the 450 professions and the shoulder enchants

I disagree. The enchantment requires level SIXTY to enchant, so it would appear 60 is required to use. Test this and post back.

doh, good point. I"ll test it on my 77 druid once he's copied over.

assuming this all makes it to live...

i am pretty satisfied with what blizzard is doing here.

to me, the point of twinking is to have the same level of gear as everyone else, not to be pwning people that are without the gear. now that the buffs from nethercleft and shoulder enchants are/will be gone, it will be a more even playing field.

will this make some classes more overpowered? perhaps. but i know that as a person with mainly flag carrying toons, the nerf to nethercleft still seems like a step in the right direction. it might make my job more difficult, but overall it will make both non-twinks and twinks alike have to use more skill than gear.

drayner has also posted something on the rank 6 lifeblood tests, and i believe earlier in this thread someone said the 500 hp from 450 mining was gone. this is the only change that seems bad. not because profession buffs are becoming nerfed, but because now the people who worked so hard to get 450 will have to start all over again and train from 1 to 225+.

on a somewhat related note...

@ the profession changes -- perhaps try using different ranks? i know there's a checkmark that says something like 'show all spell ranks.' maybe that will cure the herbalism change. idk.

I'm curious what the "cutoff" will be for the shoulder/leg enchants. The 49 bracket has an awful lot of burst, removing 70 stamina can be pretty heavy in a bracket where thousands of health can be lost in seconds.

I just got my 49 Prot Warrior wrapped up, and I'd have to say when I go toe to toe against other twinks it feels just right on the damage to health ratio. The fact that I could open with a 1.2K Shield Slam gets balanced out by things like the Gladiator 'chant and Nethercleft. If they go I'd probably weather the storm just fine being a Prot Warrior... but my friend is twinking a mage for 49s right now and I can only imagine how hellacious the burst could be for him. Or what about healing through burst for my other friend that just finished a Holy Paladin?

No problems here with leveling the playing field a bit for non-twinks, but if 70 points of stam are going then the damage will probably need to be scaled back as well.

This is just retarded. Nothing less. Removing all the stamina, but keeping 15agi gloves, 15agi weapons, etc..

Welcome oneshotting in the 19 bracket.

I don't care if they take away all the item enhancements and enchants > skill 250 because it should make things fairer for all players. What i do worry about strongly is that hunters, palas and probably rogues will be the only viable classes in the lower brackets then. How is a mage or lock with nearly no +spell and substantially less HP supposed to deal with any hunter? THIS will most probably destroy twinking.

In any case if Blizz does destroy twinking in any way (and that doesn't mean i am afraid to lose my overpoweredness) there's nothing left for me to do in this game. I have two subscriptions to cancel then.

.

Completely agree with you mojo. Casters other than preists are now useless gimps. Can anyone confirm if ALL the leg armor is nerfed?

Blizzard is making a HUGE mistake by doing this. Not on the level of nerfing the items but the time and money invested and earned on the game to get those items to just be taken away with no compenstation is wrong.

This would be a prime time to open arenas for twinks to earn their gear. The only other option is to hand in enchanted soulbound items to a quest vendor for something we can sell or use that can see the enchants.

While I see that their minds are made up on this they really do need to consider that taking away the freedom, and limiting our ability to do what we want with our toon is one thing. Taking away what we toiled for and earned makes you a thief.

Want to limit us on YOUR game that is fine. It is your game Blizzard, do what you want. You are king there. You take things away that was legit in the game after I earned it, you better compensate my time.

Same thing happened to all 70s when WotLK came out. I am still way more worried about lower level bracket class balance (or lack thereof) than the time i invested in my enchants.

Yeah...Bloodbrew, in my eyes your points are a little bit...off. Yes - no compensation is kinda harsh, but you did have it for a good couple of months+ to enjoy and have fun with, if you leveled herbalism or mining, im sure you made a crap ton of money from selling all the herbs (not from skinning if you used the trick however)

Blizzard is hardly 'stealing' from you by removing your 450 profession buffs, they are completely broken

And when you said "While I see that their minds are made up on this" that is hardly true...3.1 is ~2 months away, that is 2 months in which many, many things can, and will, change. Some for the better - some for the worse.

But there is no reason to jump the gun and quit because they are shaking our foundations a little, yes some classes will have it better than others - but we'll learn to deal with it, live we always have.

mages can do great even without SP.

a smart one is usually the most influential toon on the battlefield. being able to frost bolt, frost nova, and poly, it's easy to keep several toons snared.

i have a 19 CC mage, and i've seen other ones who are much better than me. they are always keeping many people locked down.

as far as warlocks go, we'll see. 20+ ones can use seduce and all of them can use fear so they are pretty decent at CCing too.

I hardly think losing 35 sp and 100hp is going to make casters gimps. And I'm ignoring losing boas and profs because I didn't have those until a few weeks ago, and didn't feel very gimp.

I am not worried about the 450 profession buffs Spook. I mean the money vested in enchants and the time used to level those professions. I disagreed with the buffs when they took away the ability for everyone to earn them. I have not played my toon since then due to the fact it is to OP (makes it not fun).

I say that their minds are made up because this is the direction they have leaned in for some time. This is not based on this one event. This goes back to vanilla wow and grandfathering laws. They do not support us and are doing everything they can to force the breaking of these brackets without openly saying it. By doing so would lose customers. By embracing it would lose customers. They are not equipped and have no game plan to back a meta-game facet that was not intended. They would have to hire a seperate dev team branch to do it but they will never make a U-turn from end game content in which they struggle to keep a pace to hold the masses (No one wants that).

They are stealing if I earned the money and purchased the item and they take it away with no compensation.

I have always learned to deal with it Spook, I have been playing and twinking a long time. I do thank you for your input though. We have a broad range of thoughts on this matter and it is nice that we can get together and hammer out all the points. But if I agree or disagree I would never say that either of our points are off because that would be off the point of us even posting. ;)

meh. loss of 300 hp isn't the end of the world. i think the 39 bracket will still be balanced.

and all those that had stuff that was not intended is going to be removed. hoorah :D
