Is 20-29 (and retail in general) twinking dying?

Now that there's no levelers in the queue i would argue that premades are less an oblivious hypocrisy than a legitimate necessity. Expecting levelers to find 4 other people whilst casually going through levels 10-20 is pretty ridiculous, expecting ("allowing") twinks to do it against only themselves just makes for better games.

Trust me, I'm all about the shittiness of "just playing with friends" when crapping on levelers, but in xpoff it aint bad.

It was a HUGE complaint even before everyone got put into the locked XP queues, cant expect it to just disappear. Before 29 "killed the bracket!!!111" it was "premades are killing the bracket!!1" and before that "hunters are killing the bracket!".

Seems reasonable there's still some animosity about it now that everyone has "moved on"... right? ;)

while i get your point i do think premades and the gearing slot machine are the biggest reasons why brackets are dying and moving on to classic etc but the biggest of all was 3.3.5 nerf twinking is no where near the population than pre 3.3.5

yes and no the current green meta is way to crappy you have to have it drop with a socket and correct tertiary stats which is a whole rng layer above what it used to be i would say you would have a better time farming level 19 greens in wrath classic compared to gearing a 19 in retail with the current way greens work i would finish multiple 19s in wrath classic before someone finishes a 19 on retail purely farming

I know twinks are all about min maxing every possible little thing but I can't see terts being useful to a degree where people spend whole days farming full set of gear with correct tert and socket. That's just too pedantic

At least in SL theres just no comparison between a full tert twink and those without.

Anything else is just “good nuff” after you’ve experienced it.

I just rolled a lock, it's now totally a monk + ranged class meta.

A friend playing DH said it’s disgustingly strong. Monk is great, Warrior is still very strong, and Enhance Shaman has disgusting burst. I think just about every class looks strong with Prepatch. It’s too soon imo to say it’s gonna be a ranged meta. People haven’t farmed full leech sets yet either. Assuming a full leech set can get you to 40%+ leech, that’s gonna shake up the meta a lot. I’m still fearful the whole bracket is gonna be too bursty to enjoy. It’s not fun to die in 2-3 seconds without a way out. I don’t wanna see a full expansion of blowing all CD’s to get a few kills and then running away from people until you have them again. That’s gonna be depressing if it works out that way.
 
lol this thread. 20s was never a REAL twinking bracket tho. 70s started it all and now it ended with it being viable again. Even tho it's broken af and very few are still lvl 27 with grandfathered gear. I think we will see more and more 27-29s back in bgs again.

leech is useful aka means you need as much leech gear as you can get rest is speed gear to stack with your movement speed enchant which helps a ton with kiting which makes it harder for melee to catch you especially as fc any other questions?
even just 10% more movement speed is a huge advantage

10% speed is literally nothing. It means that by the time you run 40 yards (which is average caster range) someone with full tert set runs 44 yards. And input lag will usually ignore the 4 yards difference for melee. I swear this gear is so overhyped and people fell for it for whole expansion

Full tert would mean more than 10% difference...
