Interest level in p2p 20

We have some 20 p2p in our guild, IMO . P2p regardless still has advantages. To each their own.
The little advantages a P2P has over a F2P are minor compared to 24s vs 20 F2P. Nothing a competent competitive F2P group cant overcome compared to vs 24s. Burst is high enough that a P2P with around 200 hp is taken down just as easy as a F2P 20. Besides as a P2P 20 beating P2P 24s is a challenge and fun.

Playing a 24 also has its challenges like picking the first 3 you want to kill first and trying to stay awake. Also looking for other 24s to queue with can also be a challenge.

..As a side note, I want to point out that people are missing out on how fun playing a 20 p2p is. Yes we have an advantage over f2p, but isn't that what twinking is all about? But the disparity is not so glaring as it would be if we were 24. The f2p people have a better chance of killing you and you stand a better chance against a 24. The day they put 24s in a seperate bracket is when I follow the f2p rules until then I am having fun. I already see more 20 p2p playing. 24 is boring as hell, simple as that.

...One more thing you are all delusional about this respect thing. Honestly, I would never respect anyone because of their gear or level. I respect people that know how to work as a team and are friendly. I, however, have no respect for undergeared people that come in to a bg when they know damn well they are screwing the whole team over by just being there. I might be right, I might be wrong, but thats just me lol.

Well said. Glad to see more or hear of more P2P 20's looking for some competitive games almost EVERY game.

Blinka, are you suggesting that a 24 can't get challenging games as often as a P2P 20 can?

Crit, It seems you are reading into that post and from the comments in last 24 hours that you have posted it seems you are on a warpath and taking offense where none is intended.

This thread is about P2P 20's and my comment was on topic about them and my experience with my characters that are level 20 and 24. Even when in groups of up to 5 so far, I was pointing out with "almost EVERY" about P2P 20's is, we rarely get into steamroll games with minimal resistance. As a level P2P 20 the F2P's can swarm (as they often do) and kill a level 20 P2P with burst just as easily as a fellow F2P. As we run into 24's they bring another dynamic to deal with. I find this sort of constant challenge almost every game fun and intriguing.

If as a 24 you are getting challenging games almost every time then that is great and the bracket will be a draw for many more players for a long time to come.

After a small break, I am looking to que up with others after 6pm PST today Sunday 29th for some 20s action.

I have taken no offense. Just asking for clarification.

I queue alone every day as a Horde 24. Every game is challenging. Even with another wins are not assured. When I queue alone as an Alliance p2p 20 every game is a roll unless a strong Horde 24 group shows up. Even as all 20s we beat Horde teams that have a couple of 24s. Queuing as Alliance not only takes forever it is a roll most of the time at any level and as such is truly boring.

We are dedicated to Horde 24s for so many reasons. I played p2p 20. Horde Invasion has a number of former p2p 20s as well as f2p. The overall experience was lacking and all moved on. As a "twink" I will not be caught on unequal footing and if my opponent does not prepare or step up it is on them, not me. As a GM with a goal of a highly active PvP guild spending my time on distracting the guild with diversions that only appeal to a few is not something I am going to do. It is counter productive and will have a negative effect on the guild.

Some may enjoy being caught and destroyed by an s key 24 hunter but most don't. Today Yang (24 gnome Rogue) was using his gnomish deathray again hitting for 1300-2200. As 20s we would have had no chance. As 24s we won 3-0 but they gave a good fight. Our 85s and 24s are our focus and if you play this game in a balanced way and still have time for side projects, good for you. If you can do side projects and run a successful PvP guild more power to you.

A roll costs me 5-8 minutes and I will get a challenging game or two within an hour. It also serves other purposes like helping guild re-rolls earn BoAs. Getting farmed costs me 25 minutes and that same hour spent may well be two such games and serves no such purpose.

This brackets 24 activity continues to spike and is this summers place to be leading up to MoP. :D

I waved. It was good to see Yang. I heard you were back on Ying.

wait, what's the point of a paid-to-play 20?

1, level 24 twinks will think you are stupid.
2, level 20 F2P twinks will think you are stupid.

P2p 20's with f2p restrictions are accepted by the f2p community. Some people have different opinions about lvl 20 p2p's with P2p enchants.

I'm all for anything that keeps people queing in this bracket. To each their own.

1, level 24 twinks will think you are stupid.

So because someone may think you're stupid for something, there's no point to it whatsoever? I play my fully twinked p2p 20 because I have fun doing it (aka, the reason I play this game). The ones who think you are stupid for it also happen to be some of the easiest people in the bracket to troll, which is even more fun. I'm also not exactly fond of Gnomer, so I can (and did) reach my goal of BiS without having Thermaplugg burned into my Retinas or going on a futile OCD-fueled quest for Hotshots (I've never found the RNG Gods to be particularly kind to me, but I still tend to beat my head up against their wall of unfavorable lewtz).

what's the point of that.

The ability to trade, use the Auction House, mail BoAs and split professions up among characters makes it very easy to create and maintain a "f2p" twink. An active 20 that can form their own groups is a great asset to a f2p community.
