Interest level in p2p 20

I know very few P2P 20s that stick out to me and besides this one hunt that seemed to like to farm mid the first time I saw him only one person stuck out to me and that was swoops. I love trying to 1v1 him and we have probably around a 50-50 ratio against each other but when I faced the P2P 20 hunt i was completely destroyed (hunt also had disarming pet but meh). P2P 20s are just as good if not better then 90% of the 24s in this bracket as they actually have skill and dont need to crutch as much.

Edit: not trying to troll any 24s just stating what ive noticed about some P2P 20s. If you're a 24 and got affended just assume you're that 10% i wasn't talking about ;)

Was definitely a fun game last night (on my end at least, probably not as much on yours). I swear it wasn't just trolling, gotta do what I gotta do when you're the only useful person on the other team. May have to find a new spot to smeld at the beginning of games though :D.
 
I thought some of you were going f2p?

Nick just meant F2P restrictions, but on a P2P account.
Easier to set up premades and arenas this way, while being able to stay on Spirestone.
 
so has this idea takin off? i have a few old toons on cenarius... might wanna check this out im hella bored!

Maybe it has, but time will tell. Imo as 24s get tired of not having competitive games they will look for more competitive matches or move on. Lets hope for compettive games.
 
The tidal wave is coming. You say it ruins the bracket. The fact is that is yet to be determined. The truth is if we get enough 24s we may even save it.
If the bracket gets momentum, and I believe it has started, it can be self sustaining with 24s
Wherever the instant queues go we will follow.

So how has the new patch affected you for better or worse as a level 20?

Overall, I think the patch reduced the effectiveness of p2p 20s. Gear scaling is way down and spell hit was changed significantly against higher level players. I've had to push the mage's gear more toward survivability, damage is much too low for a glass cannon set to be viable. I know the miss chance against 24s is at least 20%, haven't narrowed down/tested the exact number yet. Combined with functional resists on Gnomer gear, its a significant disadvantage against 24s.

That being said, I'm still having a lot of fun. I think the patch was good for the bracket and an awesome change of pace from the crazy burst damage we were seeing before. Now that Holy Shock damage is nerfed, games are decided less often by team composition. Instead of who had more 24 hunters, its now about who focused damage and CC better to take out healers. The uninterruptable heals could probably use a bit of a nerf still (holy shock/PW:S), but the changes are a net positive IMO.
