It's not about making you better, GF is really cool and makes people feel all nostalgic.
It's the same as buying a 19 gfed rogue.

There's one rogue in all of 29s who has double Skullbreakers with Mongoose on each one. He's also the worst rogue in the bracket. He constantly gets schooled by players who don't even have any BoAs or GF gear.

I have no idea how much grandfathered Rogues sell for, but I have some fairly old toons (almost all rogues) which are pretty close to grandfathered BiS. I quit playing before helms came out, but Im pretty sure one of my 29's has both Windstorm and Skullbreaker with Mongoose (Windstorm for sure)

Well those weapons aren't the only GFed gear for rogues. There's the Monkey Ring from RFK quest, Lancer boots, Raptor Hunter Tunic, Tiger Hunter Gloves, Razzeric Racing Grips, Crescent of Forlorn Spirits, ect, ect. The rogue that sold for $1400 was the best known geared rogue in the 29 bracket because it had literally every single GF gear item a rogue could use, and also had previously been a Gnome engineer so it could get Gnomish Death Ray.

I am well aware of them not being the only GF'ed items. I had 2-3 near-perfect rogues _before the items were grandfathered_. I didnt bother faction changing, since Crescent was bad and the Death Ray wasnt worth $25 to me. However, all the 'basic' grandfathered stuff like Raptor Tunic, Racing Grips, Tiger Hunter Gloves etc I figured were a given when I mentioned I had Mongoose on Windstorm, since that's quite a bit more rare than any of those items.

imo a GF BiS level 29 of any class is worth (this bracket's game per week) * 10.
if it's a dead bracket with only like 10 games a week. then we are looking at $100.
but if it's an active bracket with games going all day long, then maybe even $1500.

I saw that Tapout was leveled out, but he was definitely better geared than Wbern. Sucks that Ryan sold off his toon, but for 1400 I dont blame him.
Unfortunately I quit before Lancer Boots and the Monkey ring were grandfathered, although from what I saw the Monkey ring wasnt really BiS. Unless I was going pure Ambush/BS I would imagine Id prefer DMH over it.
