EU+US Horde or Alliance for Hunt?

Hashbrowns

Legend
Messing around on a new pure f2p account, grinding the water strider and stone lion currently (wow is this a pain without gear/+xp) Should I got Horde or Alliance?

Alliance
+Tired of Org
+Goldshire sounds fun
+Closer to Gnomer for dungeons

Horde
+Stonetalon gear
+ilvl 30 Stonetalon helm lets me get high ilvl ring or staff from Stocks
+BiS gear then? Even though it's close are won't even show up in stats
+Tonga's Eyes

It's BM, no surv

Arcane Torrent and Stomp are the most powerful racials imo but i still love playing my human warrior :)
You can even play Panda. Why not?

Yea if you don’t care about racials then roll Alliance. Gear barely makes a noticeable difference if you are only getting a a couple pieces with slightly higher ilvl. You only get 0.1% stats for each avg item level you achieve above 25, so I would roll ally for QoL purposes, since the gearing purposes aren’t very substantial.

Its 35 not 25 for 20 (29+6) GL reaching that without engineering or white neck and rings.

The threshold isnt 35. Its either 25 or 30.

My goblin warrior with an average ilvl of 25 has slightly worse stats than my dwarf, average ilvl of 30.

That said, if you dont have invasion gear, you probably wont hit that threshold so it doesnt matter either way.

(edit: I'd never actually looked at the templates before and 8% crit is some bullshit)

Thx for all the responses. I should have mentioned, I'm panda, deciding which side to roll on (wanted water walking and battle rez pets). Staying BM, I know its gimped but having fun with pets. Just wondering which faction has the best gear/anything else I'll miss out on going with one over another.

rogues can break 35 without any gfed items
but hardcore grinding

alliance clothies can break 35 with soft-GFed faerie mantle + argus ring at ilvl 32 each
plus more hardcore grinding than non GFed rogues for the rest of the items

I’m usually always BM but this last patch we got hit into the ground with the nerf bat. I’d set up Marks also as it’s probably more competitive in PvP.
The Panda stun would be cool to keep them melee off you. Good luck with it!

Different races have different base stats - which is probably what you're seeing.

The cutoff is either the heirloom ilvl for the bracket (34) or your char (25). AFAIK it's the bracket. Then again, the difference is minor and you would want to maximize ilvl either way - so it doesn't really change anything.

If 20s had their own bracket it would be 25 but they don't and it isnt. Looks like it was written over from 19 without too much thinking about the differences.

The goblin has more haste. You have better stats because of race. Crit and vers are same but missing several strenght points.

Nop you wont see any gain from ilvl before ilvl 35. I can take some pictures later.

goblin gets a racial haste bonus. And I thought the different base stats for races were eliminated in the templates?

Either way, I hope you're right. I've been operating under the assumption that it was 35 and kinda had a moment when I actually looked at my characters yesterday.

Try changing your dwarfs ilvl to 25 and see what happens
