Hardest and easiest f2p class to play

Your thoughts on the hardest and easiest f2p class to play in terms of the skill required to play it well, not how good/OP/viable it is.

Aint been here long but:

Easiest - Warrior

Hardest - Mage (possibly)

Easiest class to play at max potential would be definitely be a prot warrior. Hardest class is a hunter, simply because they have so many more abilities than every other class at 20, and while you can easily derp and succeed in a pug, they have the highest skill cap without a doubt.

Highest skill Floor: Warlock
Lowest skill Floor: Hunter

Highest skill Cap:Hunter
Lowest skill Cap:Warrior

easiest imo - prot warr. really nothing to do but spam damage. little rage management, possibility for stance dancing for more rage but pretty redundant. still gotta be aware, but that goes for any class
hardest imo - i'd say hunter if they had to have any concern for teammates besides peels (which goes for any class) and RoS. haven't played a shaman, but i imagine w/ heals, damage, purge and cleanse they'd be up there
Nah, Shaman doesn't require too much skill to learn well - just too many people either focus Damage or Healing and do not try to Purge things like Shield, Cleanse stuns as well as keep people up while dotting potential Stealthers.

I would considerEle shaman to be one of the highest skill caps, but resto is much easier to play well. Healing is just so derp, that finding time to dispel and interrupt should be easy. Ele has to DPS, Offheal and play utility to reach max potential, whereas resto does no damage whatsoever.

WoW are you serious? 'Hardest class to play is Hunter' ...

You are trolling right? Hunter, in my opinion is the 2nd easiest class to play (Protection Warrior being first) imo.

A bit of CC, Stuns/Scatter. Easy stuff.

Hardest Class to play in my opinion is between Mage and Warlock. If you can play either one of those classes well it becomes more and more complicated with Focus CC macros/CC/Burst etc... Peeling as a warlock is particularly hard. Peeling as Mage is relatively easy, Frost Nova/Pet Freeze/Rough Copper Bomb etc... Then you have to bare in mind, when i'm in a group fight, not only do i have to do (pretty much all) of the CC (because most people don't CC well), i have to constantly check my surroundings and Positioning. I have to be ready to Blink/Pet Freeze when Rouges, Warriors Focus me. (YAY LET'S KILL THE CLOTHY!) and at the same time deal Damage. This means i have to be constantly using Focus Macro's to keep an eye on the Healers while DPS'ing, as well as focusing on my Character for openers. However, it is not as simple as that.

"Jaja's" (And most people) Always attack my sheep and Freeze's (The single most frustrating thing is seeing someone dot a sheep.) so on top of all of the stuff i wrote above i have to constantly spam the F*** out of Polymorph.

Its even harder for warlocks because they haven't got Poly or Freeze. Spam Fear and Kite like there's no tomorrow.

Easiest Classes to play: 1st - Protection Warrior | 2nd - Hunter

Hardest Classes to play: 1st - Warlock | 2nd - Mage

I know some of you disagree with the 'Hunter' statement on easiest Classes to play. But lets be honest, when was the last time you have seen Hunters in BG's Peel and CC. I can only pick out a hand full. Hunter's for majority of players requires little skill.

Keeping in mind the definitions of skill cap and skill floor:

Skill cap being how hard it is to use a class to its maximum efficiency.
Skill floor being how hard it is to be successful playing a class.

I would rate mage and lock 4th and 5th respectively to hunter skill cap wise, because when playing a hunter there is virtually no skill cap, no matter how good you are, how much you do right, and how objective you are, there is always room to improve. I would rate pally 2nd and druid 3rd.

keeping that in mind mage and lock have a much higher skill floor that hunters, hunters have the lowest skill floor of all classes do to the fact that it is so easy to cc, damage, and peal effectively.

earl is talking about hardest class to play for skillCAP not skillFLOOR, which i would have to agree with earl on hunter.
as far as skillcap-wise lock is probably closer to the middle, i wouldnt put it near number one

quintos beat me to it and said it better than me :p

Hardest: BM Hunter.

Easiest: Prot Warrior.

Lolipop open ur eyes srsly.

Id put rogue right behind prot warrior as easiest. Not to much going on after you open on someone. Just keep mashing a few buttons on a single target with automatic poison and such. I guess positioning matters but that goes for every class.

Are we defining a high skill floor as in needs a higher level of skill in order to be even somewhat effective while a low skill floor requires very little skill to be effective? Just making sure I'm not reading peoples' skill floors assessments correctly.

Having played all of the classes, if I had to make a rough sketch of skill caps from highest to lowest, it would go something like this.

Hunter
Druid
Mage/Warlock
Shaman
Priest
Paladin
Rogue
Warrior

Again, that was thought up in 10 seconds and open to much criticism... though I doubt people would argue too elaborately against that ranking

ima split my post into the sections Heals , hyprid specs (dps with reasonable heal capability) , and pure dps

easiest healer to play is probably a druid as of now
highest skill cap pure healer is probably shaman

easiest hybrid .... ball druid
highest skill cap hybrid ele shaman hands down .

easiest pure dps warrior
highest skill cap bm hunter followed by demo lock id say

honestly there isnt much to druids at any spec other than running around and hotting or power shifting and spamming mangle

I'd definitely have to agree with the Druid statement - have been Druid (not twink) since late '07 and the difference in the levels nowadays to then is ridiculous.
Protection Warriors require little to no skill.
Hunters do not require any skill to kill things but to play it effectively would require a lot more compared to many others.
