if i have a multi-boxing party (all lvl20) running the dungeon, and i want just one of them to get all the loots from the boss, can i just logout the others right before the boss dies? I mean all party members deal damages to the boss until it is about to die, instead of just 1 of them soloing the boss (which is not possible without at least healer)
if you have a multi-boxing party of 20s:
- i thought they changed it so that keystroke broadcasting is against tos now? so if you're really multiboxing and not just alt-tabbing and manually entering inputs watch out
- you aren't in legacy loot mode with all 20s, so the drops are spec-specific, affected by role choice, not guaranteed to drop per boss, etc.
- whereas in legacy loot mode 2 items drop per party of any size for most bosses, not spec specific. anything off the loot table, and the same thing can drop twice. commonly legacy loot mode is turned on by having a high enough member in party and not using party synch or anything to lower it
- having a highlev char online in party in dungeon when a boss is engaged gives the chance that the drops may be scaled to the highlev char and not the lowlev(s). leaving dungeon or logging before engaging removes this chance. it's not the kill but the engage, so you can't have the highlev dps to 5% then log. this includes events like endboss hillsbrad--can't log out after killing the packs but before the dragon.
- dropped loot regardless of ilvl can be traded between party members that were online and in dungeon when boss was engaged.
so in short, for a group of all 20s you can just tradewindow everything to whatever character, but you're getting random # drops per boss and items tied to your characters specs.
sometimes when a loot table had an item i wanted that was rareish yet there wasn't much else on the table for a given spec, i'd run dungeons normally and see it drop ezier being limited to just that spec's drops. more often legacy loot speed runs from a highlevel bruteforcing the whole potential loot table was my chosen option.
