Enchanting and you, a brief summery.

Hey so the question of how to lvl X xpac enchanting gets asked around a lot so I decided to write up a quick guide on it. Please feel free to add anything I missed or overlooked.

-Vanilla-

best method I found so far, farming cloth and d/e tailoring made gear, strange dust can not be obtained from randomly found greens at lvl20 Wow proffs has guides on where to farm X cloth. Brilliant shards are from d/e blues, farm dungeons for these. if you are done with strange dust but tailoring is too low for silk and higher make bandages to lvl quicker and easier then bolts.
(edit)-Expedition vendor in the new class trainer areas in SW and org sell greens that can give you strange dust
(edit) there is a pair of purple pants you can buy form the wsg pvp vendor for 5g that you can d/e. gives void crystals brilliant shards eternal essences and illusion dust. mostly brilliant shards though.

Tailoring is solid but there is a vendor in stormspire nethertsorm that sells greens you can d/e, the respawner for these items is very fast and the items themselves are pretty cheap. If you are playing on a high twink pop server and this guy is being camped go tailoring. shards are from dungeons and larger shards from from combining 3 lesser shards ( enchanting recipe)
edit- the vendor is exotic weapon seller.

Buy the pvp set items from the vendors in dalaran, they will be in your factions specific area, if you do not know where these are then open your map. buy around 10-15 blue items and as many epics as you feel you will need. d/e these until enchanting is lvl 25 then train abyssyl shatter and shatter abyss crystals until grey. Enchant what ever from there.

-cata- no idea havent done it, I assume tailoring if you have the cloth would work well though. ( edit) you can get the epic quality shards from the cata vendors in the stormwind/org pvp vendor area. they also sell blue sets for heavenly shards.

-mop-
farm motes of harmony and random green drops in snowfall cave over by one-keg in kun-lai summit, also use tailing here as you well get lots of cloth. You must do the opening of the vale quest to get to the mote trader.

-wod-
haven't done much of it to comment really, the parts I have done was to just d/e rare mob spawns since I didnt need to go far in. (pretty sure the weapon enchants do not work for 20's) (edit) trading hut in your garrision Can trade for enchanting mats, enchanter hut can be sued to d/e items if you do not have enchanting.

-legion-
d/e tailoring items/quest rewards. There is a guide for jcing epic necks to get chaos crystals, I wont go into it here do some searching on the forums.

-bfa- havent touched it yet.

Theres always the garrison trading post if you arent in a rush to grind it out and can use the enchanting hut for your rings anyway

can the enchanting huts do the enchant for you? I know you have to turn in research to buy enchants from them. Also enver used the trading hut even when wod was live ty for the info though I will def add it.

For vanilla enchanting you could add Krom'gar rep items for (Light) Eternal Essence and (Light) Illusion Dust (Horde only?). You only need to do the opening few quests in Stonetalon Mountains to buy the boots.

So I really like the idea of this thread so Ima try to elaborate more on some of these. I don't think the other ones really need to be expanded upon or don't have any easy methods besides the tried and true tailoring approach

Vanilla:
You can level this a decent amount with just vendor stuff. Pick up https://www.wowhead.com/item=6349/formula-enchant-2h-weapon-lesser-intellect before you start leveling for convenience since its annoying to have to move cities to pick it up during.

IMPORTANT: Chances are you are leveling this for https://www.wowhead.com/item=16252/formula-enchant-weapon-crusader, the mobs you need to farm for this recipe are phased and if you quest too far into the Eastern Plaguelands you will not be able to farm another copy. FARM DUPLICATES *As Chops noted you can always psync with someone who hasn't done the quest chain to get the phase back but that requires friends so farm more than one recipe anyway*

Head over to your factions version of the vendor below in either SW/Org

These vendors sell weapons you can D/E, buy a bunch and D/E until you get lvl25 enchanting and be ready to come back for more if needed.

Craft:

• https://www.wowhead.com/item=6349/formula-enchant-2h-weapon-lesser-intellect until green

You should now be 150ish from here you have a couple different options based on faction/needs, use https://www.wow-professions.com/guides/vanilla-enchanting-leveling as a general guide from this point but the craft enchants you actually need to level when possible

Option 1

For the warriors and paladins leveling this for crusader you will already be farming Strat for https://www.wowhead.com/item=12811/righteous-orb or https://www.wowhead.com/item=13505/runeblade-of-baron-rivendare?bonus=6712

Hell if you're a F2P you're gonna be running Strat for https://www.wowhead.com/item=13335/deathchargers-reins at some point so might as well start the runs now.

Between tailoring and the greens that drop you will be off to a solid start mat wise. If you still need more you can check out the other methods.

Option 2

https://www.wowhead.com/npc=14754/kelm-hargunth / https://www.wowhead.com/npc=14753/illiyana-moonblaze sells two plate pants for gold. From my limited testing one was basically always a https://www.wowhead.com/item=22450/void-crystal while the other gave https://www.wowhead.com/item=14344/large-brilliant-shard but gave both https://www.wowhead.com/item=156930/rich-illusion-dust and https://www.wowhead.com/item=16203/greater-eternal-essence with decent enough regularity
The one that gave dust/essence was https://www.wowhead.com/item=22651/outriders-plate-legguards for Horde and the Ally equivalent is https://www.wowhead.com/item=22672/sentinels-plate-legguards

This probably isn't the fastest or most efficient method but if you are a druid only going for minor speed or you just need a couple more mats quickly then this might suit your needs

Option 3

This one is horde only
In Stonetalon Mountains find this guy https://www.wowhead.com/npc=42028/kromgar-quartermaster, he sells greens that you can D/E. You will need to do some questing to get items in his shop however but getting at least the boots doesn't take long at all. If your toon is from BFA then you've most likely done this entire quest chain already anyway.

TBC:
You should get most of the mats you need here while farming tbc dungeons for your socket gear. D/E all your greens and use the cloth drops for tailoring to make more greens to D/E for even more mats.

If you still need more mats theres some vendors with limited stock like https://www.wowhead.com/npc=19536/dealer-jadyan you can camp

Casters after https://www.wowhead.com/item=22555/formula-enchant-weapon-major-spellpower should head to Blade's Edge after picking up Outlands Enchanting and kill dudes in the area below and you should get the recipe in maybe 5-10min if not sooner

Completely buyable, huge inconvenience to monks and DH however as they have heavily increased armor costs so get fucked I guess

Head up to those vendors and buy the epics/rares for like 5g to D/E and https://www.wowhead.com/spell=69412/abyssal-shatter for all the mats you need. If you can't find the cheap ones and aren't one of the SoL specs mentioned before check every page of every vendor in that area. Theres more cheap epic options available at the specific armor type vendors like https://www.wowhead.com/npc=35498/horace-hunderland if you wanna get some additional mogs while buying epics to D/E

Cata:
For Greens

I went to Twilight Highlands, on the coast just north of Dragonmaw Port. Here nagas battle against the friendly NPCs, they spawn constantly, you can easily kill these mobs like you would do for mobs your level.

For Blues/Purples
The Cata pvp vendors in the main city sell armor for MoH you can D/E

WoD:
Between https://www.wowhead.com/building=111/trading-post and the https://www.wowhead.com/building=93/enchanters-study I'm not really sure what else you'd need. If there is something you can't craft with just the Enchanting Hut, see below, then just buy mats from the Trading post for garrison resources

Legion:
Farm hyperspawns or do the JC method

Also to add, for the MoP one, the vale part, you do not have to start the opening the vale quest to get in. Along the kunlai summit there is a huge wall (serpent's spine) that you can get into, climb up and run along. Run along the wall and you will reach the part of the wall that is in the vale, jump off (careful not to aggro the ?? Level mobs) and run to the faction's base there. Its riskier cuz of the mobs but we are twinks right, we can dodge through high level mobs

Nice, when i started his thread I kind a just wanted to have a spot for info regarding where to get mats since I make a lot of new toons it would be nice to have a place I can check. I appreciate the info here for lvling the proffs as well as where to get the mats, I do have a question about the major spell power in blades edge though, how do you get up tehre without flying?

For Vanilla, the Legion Enchanting quests have you collect random greens to DE (https://www.wowhead.com/item=137195/highmountain-armor), these, for some reason raise your Vanilla enchanting level when DE'd. I think this could be exploited to level enchanting by dropping and picking up the quest repeatedly, but I haven't done much testing and I'm not sure if there's a cap for the level of enchanting you can reach.

For MoP, I'd say you could farm Leather either in Valley of the Four Winds with Turtles or in Lower Jade Forest, make Misthide Bracers and then DE' them, or you can farm rares on a 1-2 hour spawn timer for Ethereal Shards+Sha Crystals

Cool, i will log in this weekend and test it out myself. I will update my main post with the results. I had no idea that it leveled classic enchanting and I have done the quests before lol.

All d/e stops at 25 as far as I am aware, idk if legion goes past it though because I never bothered to max it.
