<Champions of Ulduar> 80 Wotlk raiding/pvp

Exciting news! We managed to acquire a paladin who offers to do both prot and ret and is opting to be full time meaning we have either a dps or tank every fri/sat. We also recruited a mage who is expected to be on fizzcrank next week, and we acquired a new dk dps. A total of what we have right now

2 tanks

1 healer

1-3 dps (Dk is full time, the new mage isnt over yet, and we have a part time mage)

We have levelers who I've heard great things about so if all goes well when leveling comes to an end we should have

2 tanks

1 healer

3-6 dps (dk, hunter, dk, mage, mage, hunter)

Anything could change at a moments notice, we do need a holy paladin terribly along with a holy/disc priest. A resto druid wouldnt be to bad and a resto shaman isnt terrible either. We do need another healer though as I dont feel comfortable solo healing raids. When our second paladin hits 80 we may have him go holy until we figure things out a bit more.

Hopefully this keeps up, very good past few days and I'm hoping for many more to come

Another quick update we managed to down sartharion with 3 people. We obviously used cata/icc gear but we did give out 0.3 ep for the kills and 3x GP for the items so its not as if we went in there for free

Tank - Smfhlls - Prot Paladin

Heal - Angarin - Resto Shaman

DPS - Zikit - Arcane mage

We're going to attempt naxx tomorrow night and see how it goes, with 1 healer I'm a bit afraid but we'll see it might go just fine

Heres to hoping it goes well and people somewhat show up at least.

Rather semi-successful weekend. We managed to down sarth, anub, noth. Sadly we had some disagreements on time. Overtime I'm going to start getting more strict because I cant have core raiders just bail in middle of raids and say they'll come back when in fact they do, but others dont "feel" like raiding.

We're going to attempt a huge push into naxx to clear it up so we can start ulduar ASAP.

Still looking for

1 tank (any class prefered not paladin)

1 Healer (anything but resto shaman)

1-2 melee dps (anything but ret paladin)

1-3 ranged dps (anything here, preference of warlock, hunter, mage)

As always we take anybody of any spec of any class as long as they are willing to raid fri/sat nights from 8-11 pm cst.

Successful off night very nice. We managed to clear spider wing, plague wing, patchwerk, & os10m. We would've done it with 1 drake but we werent sure and we wanted to keep a good steady mood going. We'll be aiming to clear naxx tomorrow night, and EoE saturday night with some ulduar progression.

I wont be counting them as real kills since our tank was in some icc gear, and so was our dk dps.

We're still looking for

One full time off tank (preferred anything but paladin)

One full time healer (preferred holy paladin, but anything other than a druid will do)

1-4 full time dps (1-2 melee 1-3 ranged, preferred warlock, priest, hunter)

If you have any questions or want to apply please visit championsofulduar.guildlaunch.com

Thanks

Very successful ulduar raid.

At least in my eyes

Had 6 people show, 2 bosses down. Overall we just need a couple more dps & another healer. We got flame levi down easily, then we were able to do XT-002, and had some attempts on ignis, razorscale, kologarn, & iron council.

Honestly kologarn is out of our league for a bit, we walked into that the healing was extremely intensive.

Iron council was just a bit tough, we just need another body (healer) for that fight and a couple more dps.

Razorscale, we had her down 3 times and got her to like 75% health, more dps, another healer wouldnt be bad.

Ignis we need another healer just to focus on the one in the pot.

Other than that we're set

Over the last few days we've gotten 3 new people.

Couple prot paladins & a prot warrior. The prot warrior will probably be main tank, and the prot paladins may or may not stay prot.

We're expecting a couple levelers to hit 80 this week and one more the week after making a total if not more than 10m

We'd still like to have

1+ part time tanks (no prot paladins, preferred death knight or feral druid)

1-2 full time healers (disc/holy priest, resto shaman)

1+ dps (ranged preferred fyi hunter, warlock, boomkin)

If you want to join for the PvP aspect of this or just to be part time we're always taking people to help us towards 25m and keep us in full 10m raiding.

Please apply on championsofulduar.guildlaunch.com

Another quick minor update

It turns out CoU apparently has a full 10m team ready to go functioning with all roles including heals with an off spec dps & vice versa also with tank

Technically we have 11 people but we usually have 1-2 people missing from raids.

Heres to having a full naxx clear this week (no bugged sapphiron) and good ulduar progression

HOOZA

After getting serious progression going this past weekend and tons of recruits coming in I figure its time to say exactly what we're recruiting as far as spec/class

As of current we have in the immediate

4 tanks (3 prot pallys, 1 prot warrior)

3-6 healers (1 resto shaman, 1 resto druid, 4 holy pallys)

3-6 melee dps (1 frost dk, 1 ret pally, 1 combat rogue, 2 fury warriors, 1 enhance shaman)

2 ranged dps (1 ele shaman, 1 arcane mage)

We are havily lacking in ranged as you can see and we'll take just about anything

My aimed setup for 25m raiding is

3 tanks, one of which who will have dps/heal off spec

Prot Pally

Feral Bear

Prot Warrior

5 healers, which one will have a dps off spec, one with a tank off spec

holy pally

disc priest

holy priest

resto druid

resto shaman

7 melee dps, one of which may have tank off spec

frost dk

combat rogue

assasination rogue

ret pally

feral dps

fury warrior

enhancement shaman

9 ranged dps, 2-3 which will have heal off spec

elemental shaman

arcane mage

beast mastery hunter

marksmanship hunter

fire mage

shadow priest

balance druid

affliction warlock

demonology warlock

This comes to a total of 24 raiders, 16 of which are dps, 5 healers, and 3 tanks. Normally we'll use 3 tanks, some fights 1, some fights 2, some fights up to 4 or 5. Some fights we'll need to pull out 8 healers and some we'll only need 3-4.

If you want to join and see one of these specs please dont ask what do we need, cause its right there. Pick one, join up! We could use you asap and raiding happens every week along with constant heroics and soon pvp including wintergrasp. We plan to start working towards herald of titans and we're aiming to do sartharion +3d for the title here soon.

Thanks

We're pondering on our 25m composition but in all actuality it wont matter with a full 25m team.

Speaking of 25m team we are actually gonna start raiding 25m naxx/os with 19+ people and ulduar with 21+.

We may do naxx/os with 15+ people but it depends on their performance

Hopefully no bugs with sapph this weekend so we can get a kt kill and eoe in our pockets.

Still looking for qualified raiders who can make thurs/fri/sat raids from 8-11pm cst and we're looking to move naxx raids to tues/sun nights as well to make room for ulduar progression & farm content.

what rules do you use for your gear appropriate raids btw?

atm since we've only killed XT & flame levi no gear unless obtained from our ulduar raids can be 219+ unless its a boe.

so pretty much everybody is in 200-213 gear with a couple exceptions for ulduar boe's & gear obtained from our last raid.

Since we're in 3.1 progression, epic gems werent out til 3.2 with toc. So only rare/uncommon gems are allowed.

We havent acquire any ulduar profession drops yet so none of those are allowed yet til we get them to drop.

That pretty much sums it up, as of this week its gonna be our first week where if you walk into a raid with above our progression rules you cant come simply. We've done raids for 3 weeks now with enough people and we havent been able to count any kills as real progression.

Thanks for responding, did you do naxx25 in your appropriate gear for your 213 or was it from other raids / BoE's?

No we havent had a chance to do any 25m yet

pretty good progression night. We attempted os+1d with one of our tanks in half crappy gear with the other in decent gear. We were gonna do os+2d and I'm glad we didnt. Probably gonna run os+1d next week with 3 tanks & 3 healers. We tried with 3 tanks & 2 heals but still wasnt enough.

We managed to actually count some kills this week such as anub, grand widow, & maexxna along with noth. Wiping out the easiest bosses in tier 7. Planning to clear full naxx besides bugged sapphiron (still!!!) and maybe kt if sapph ever stops bugging. Gonna push into full siege of ulduar & start getting some iron council & kologarn progression going as well

Still recruiting 1 ranged dps (shadow priest, warlock, hunter, mage)

And 1 dps with heal off spec (preferred priest, druid, or shaman)

As always we're recruiting part-time members for days when people dont make raids and to build our 25m core. At the moment we're running 1 group but with recruitment going this way we will delve into another group consisting of alts/other mains and shortly after that a full 25m core

3 tanks for os 1d?

try kiting the drake hunter or feral druid if ur tanks are too squishy. in which case just 1 mt, rest dps n heals

kiting the drake hunter? I've never heard of this strategy?

Maybe we'll just do 3 heals & 2 tanks. Thats what we're gonna do 75% of ulduar with

kiting the drake with a hunter or feral druid*

used to do it when trying burn kills so you didnt need a tank for 2nd or 3rd drake or extra healers for those tanks n could bring more dps. i think. but eh

You could always use any dps that could taunt iirc and just take the drake to the start of the instance, not sure if it would work on a OS1D

We did saph last night with 13 people, so we had to push 1 air phase and oh my.. these frost tombs don't seem right to me either, unlike last week where we had 0 deaths we had like 8 people dying or so. although i was stood in the right place and didn't die, Aelo was stood in the right place and didn't die so we're not entirly certain what's causing it, some characters may be taller than others, nearly all taurens died whereas i used a noggenfogger and i lived.. so it's pretty much guess work for now, but i definatly see what you mean vin.

Champions of Ulduar has gone under some recent trimmings of our roster to rid of the unwanted & bad players. These people were removed for utter failure to learn from they're mistakes or unable to perform as well as we want after being asked to basically "l2p". In doing so the following positions are available for our core 10m team

1 stable tank (preferred druid or death knight)

1 stable healer (preferred disc/holy priest or resto shaman)

2 stable pure dps (mage, hunter, warlock)

1 stable dps with tank off spec (warrior, death knight, druid, paladin)

1 stable dps with raid heal off spec (shaman, priest, druid)

Notice how I put stable in between each one. We're quite tired of people showing to 1-2 raids then stop coming because its not faceroll like everybody told them it was once icc came out.

RIGHT icc came out, naxx mechanics went out the window, os was a freaking joke (it still is to a point but void zones hurt, fire walls hurt, & enraged fire adds definitely hurt in numbers)

Well they're tired of people deciding to show up when they feel like it. We need people who can make thursday/friday/saturday raids starting at

8pm central server time going until 11pm central server time each night.

Tuesday nights are generally farm content nights so we usually clear 95% of naxx. Such as we did naxx tuesday night, cleared everything except gluth/thaddius (including kel'thuzad & sapphiron)

We're going to attempt to create a group 2 for ulduar but for naxx/os/eoe we'll be merging into a 25m group. We can almost easily do os25m with 8-10 people so its easily doable with 15+ people and same can be said for most of naxx if dps meet the numbers.

What we require from each member?

Make raids, be on vent and online 15 minutes before raid and expect to be pulling at 8pm. There will be 2 breaks during raid time. If 10 or more people are in the raid group we will take 2 10 minute breaks at 9pm and 10pm. If 9 or less are in the raid group 2 5 minute breaks will be taken at 9pm & 10pm. People who are not back by the ready check at the end of the break (it will be marked on your dbm) will be docked 1500 EP. Thats almost an entire boss kill's worth of EP. Wasting others time isnt a joke and will not be tolerated in this guild.

What we require from certain roles specifically?

Tanks - Abillity to know when you should be using cooldowns, make sure that your assigned trash packs have aggro on you 100% of the time. If dps pull dont bitch and just taunt. If it becomes an issue the raid leader will sort it out.

Healers - Ability to use cd's on tanks & other members when needed. If a member is being melee'ed by a mob or 2 and your a holy paladin...hand of protection. If a tank is taking quite a bit of damage and you can spare 30% of your health, hand of sacrifice. If a dps is rising on threat meters and you can spare a GCD hand of salvation. I use a paladin as an example because I've been playing one forever but other healing classes have some cd's of both the same & different objective. Its your job to figure out how to play your class, not others to make you learn it.

Dps - If your assigned to kill anything in specific do it. If your attacking the "X" when a "skull" is still up and you werent told to attack "X" first your doing it wrong and your probably gonna get scolded.

Hunters/Mages/Dk's - On some occasions these classes will be told to kite mobs. Our priorities are usually death knight>mage>hunters. If you are asked to kite expect to do it and if you refuse unless you have a good reason you will be asked again. If you refuse again you will most likely be replaced, removed from raid group for the night, or docked a good amount of EP. We dont do things to be assholes, we do it for the best interest in the raid group. If we know you cant kite and your trying your best, then we wont ask you to kite again obviously.

Vent Chatter - This is becoming an issue that I'm going to resolve ASAP. When a raid leader is assigning roles, speaking about the raid, or pretty much leading in any manner, vent had better be clear. We require all members to have push to talk on and if they dont it'd better be quiet on their end from outside noises such as music, TV, fans, breathing, etc. If this becomes an issue we will handle it in a way we find necessary.

We are getting serious during raid time, but outside of raids we have our fun, we joke around, we harass each other. We all have thick skins and we expect you to as well. If you get criticism and dont take it, some improvements better be made otherwise. If a member is harassing you and it offends you please visit an officer and we will handle it.

These changes will go in effect as of sunday night. Please do not be alarmed, we are still very laid back but we are tired of having people treat this as a parking garage for toons and show up whenever they feel like it. We are dedicated raiding guild just as much as an 85 guild in heroic firelands. We try to push for our best and we are going to aim for the toughest achievements whether we physically will be able to add them on our achievement list or not within the game.

OS+3d (10/25m in 213 gear)

Herald of the titans

Yogg 0 light (10/25m in max of 239 gear)

Grand Crusader (max of 258 gear, no icc gear)

ICC ( 0% buff...yeah, its coming and we're going to inspect all 25 members of our raid just so we know it)

This weekends raiding was a great one for CoU.

In overall this weekend we managed to go 13/15 in naxx

Almost downed os25m but decided to just do 10m

Siege of ulduar, & iron council.

We tried EoE but even in cata gear it honestly was way to difficult for only 6 people. We need at least 8 probably more like 10 to do it. The drakes dont scale with ilevel or any gear unlike ulduar vehicles.

Razorscale was actually pretty funny on our 2nd attempt which was also our kill. We normally dps'ed the watchers, sentinels then guardians. After 2 flights she was down to 55% then we brought her down again and pushed her. The funny part was after our warrior tank had 2 stacks of fuse armor our dk dps taunted off which we knew, he died easier than we thought so our warrior tank was actually completely fused meaning he was basically stunned and it was intense after that.

Ignis was actually easier this week for some reason. Maybe we were just more organized.

Iron council was the one we had some real progression on and trust me its not easy with 5 people even in cata gear. Although of course easier than EoE ph3. In iron council the biggest issues we came across was making sure our fusion punch tank stayed up while also making sure the molgeim & brundir tank was as well. We got to the 2min left on enrage but we managed to do it. We're looking to do kologarn this upcoming week & looking at auriaya
