Can we get a thread on 20-29 class viability?

Im curious as to which classes are good and which are bad. Not that im gonna roll a FoTM, just dont wanna roll something completely useless. It'll also help new 20-29 twinks.

Yes of course!

Boomkin > Warrior > Spriest > Feral > Rogue

Edit: Spriest and Feral are especially scary because the skill cap for them is very low and anyone who picks it up can do well on it. I would definitely take a skilled Boomkin or Warrior over a skilled Shadowpriest or feral though.

How're boomkins around 29? My main class/spec but idk their true viability around that level..

Yes except lock :p And this shouldnt be very different, so you cant really expect none of the same results, specially not in such an unbalanced bracket.

Thing is... BM can easily idle while feral burst the shit out of the BM. When BM reaches 20% hp he can pop guard and 2 shot the feral.
 
I did my rankings while considering the presence of competent, capable healers. In that scenario, what I listed is the most accurate. BM isn't killing anything, especially when being focused by multiple players. Keg Smash is an AoE, its damage is split evenly between multiple targets, making it much less effective when being focused. Sure, spammable AoE snare can be a problem and guard can make them nearly immortal, but in a BG, they are average DPSers. Feral druids are significantly more potent single target and with competent healers will do a significant amount of damage even under pressure.

If you're talking 1v1 in a vacuum, then sure, BM monk is Bastard God.

All ranged (even spriests and boomkins) are tier 3 or lower because they all have weaknesses atm. Their burst is dependent on free casting, which means any competent melee can sit on them and squelch their damage. Boomkins lost instant Star Surge. Spriests lost CC. Both have good burst when timed correctly but lack good burst under pressure. All melee have a leg up on casters right now, even the ones who lack interrupts. Being able to tunnel damage at instant speed and ride just about anything you want through default 30% movement speed + whatever gap closers your class has gives their burst what it needs to be superior to casters.

F2P Feral? Considering they get everything needed for a full burst rotation, they would be pretty good, if they had better gear and enchants (scaling doesn't make up for lack of these things). I'd say probably in there with the casters somewhere.

F2P BM monk? They're in the same boat as Feral. Missing gear and enchants puts them in a rough spot for being viable, considering they don't have Guard yet. Lack of Glyphs also matters more with BM (Breath of Fire). I'd put them with casters too.

Pretty sure the damage is not split, it's the same base damage to every nearby opponent.
