The ilv100+ pieces are really just superior in 2ndary stats, mostly.
 
shadowland gem requires ilvl 87 or higher. you seem confused and got trolled by warglave
 
yes WoD WF with socket would be BiS because the sockets on WotLK epics take up stats weighting (items with socket have lower stats).

whether WoD WF with socket is practical to obtain is another story.

Had an issue getting full "credit" for the gems tho, with 11 slots full of SL gems I could only get 933 hp10 secs. The weird part was that obviously that's only 9 gems, but if I replaced any with non-SL it went down 100 for each... pretty screwy.

I only copied over so many gems so I couldnt figure it out without running out or re-copying, and not feeling that lol. Best I could get was 966 hp10 by using the speed per SL gem as well. went from 933 to 966, lmao. Bizzare. But useful nonetheless.

*EDIT- figured out why I was having issues but waiting for Glance to do his own homework instead of spewing misinformation... so we'll see if he learns. :rolleyes:

It's 133 for the two utility gems and 100 for each normal gem. 1166 health per 10 seconds for 11 slots, all I farmed up. Presumably the only limit is usable slots - the extra buckle slot for belt isnt available to socket, not sure if it's even active if gemmed before patch (PTR copy). You cant access it so you cant change what's in it after patch, according to the PTR.

edit2- OK IT WAS BUGGING ME.... so the extra buckle gem slotted gave ----> 1 additional versatility for the gemmed 2/2 int/vers gem socketed before the copy over. LMAO this game is something else.... so dont forget to fill it up before tuesday.

Lol... maybe there's an "optimal" gem to slot it with that grants more than 1 vers. TO THE TEST REALM!! (nope, to bed ;))

I'm sure someone else can do better, that's just what I had to work with after dropping everything to check this out. :KEKW:

Pretty fun zooming around, tho basically not viable... but wtf difference is that gonna make? Fun tho, good stuff guys.

edit- also got like +20-ish % speed or so from the speed-per-SL-gem usage, maybe bit less as I has some speed gear.

Might wanna math that out while gemming before claiming "optimal".... cuz you already know it's 133 for the heal gem.

And 100 each additional.

And 133 more for the speed gem.

133 + 1200 + 133 = ???

Not 1066.

SO yeah..... something not "optimal' going on, like I already explained above. So maybe figure it out before tossing claims.

edit- I know your number isnt right, and why... but YOU dont, nor why, and that's the point. And why no one ever listens.

I got 1166 with 11 SL gems, I believe. Heading to bed, good luck finding optimal!

Thanks for testing out the +speed SL gems. Fun stuff.

It's not 20-29, but would be fun(ny) to see what's possible in the 30's bracket. Gear some 30's resto druid with maybe 26 gem slots + feline swiftness +15% speed. And tireless pursuit, wild charge and stampeding roar.

Survival or marks hunter with trailblazer +30% speed is super zippy too, would be interesting to see what 24-ish gem slots could do.

I'm curious if swapping out one SL gem for https://www.wowhead.com/item=169220/straddling-sage-agate (+5%) and possibly one SL gem for https://www.wowhead.com/item=153715/straddling-viridium (+3%) is better/worse than the 13 or 26 lost speed.
 
apparently belt buckle doesn't give any stats (even if you pre-gem it)

i think the formula for regen is

100 * SL gem PIECE count (if one piece of gear has 2 SL gems, it counts as one) + 33 * doublet count + 100

so pieces with multiple sockets aren't as good as those with just 1 socket (because the additional socket eats away stats weighting)

so, each socket is worth about 6 stamina if you get 1 tick before you die, 12 stamina if you get 2 ticks before you die, etc.

quickly put together a max survivability set, here you can see my health, regen, speed and other stats.

I have one with tons of MoP raid gear, unfortunately raid stuff isnt getting scaled up like dungeon stuff. Last i checked, anyway. Not gonna spam TBC tonight, but after patch sometime i likely will. :D

Also kind of excited to see what BS blizz pulls tomorrow... how theyre gonna screw all this and never comment on it, as usual. :KEKW:

Or something crazy like level 30 f2play or something, tho i doubt that highly.

It doesn't directly. Was just daydreaming speed builds and pondering how badly Blizz messes things up allowing around 26 speed gems into low level brackets. Indirectly, I imagine Blizz will nerf something with the speed and healing gems eventually.

based on my testing, it's counted as piece not gem.

so leggings with 2 gem slots = 1 shadowland gem count

at least on my 29
 
Looking for advice on enchants for Level 25 hunter (formerly level 60 twink)..
For ranged weapon I can choose between +5 dmg and +12 crit rating (2.68% crit).
For 2H weapons choices are 15 attack power vs 7 agility vs elemental force.
For 1H choice is either 7 agility or elemental force. Is there a shared cooldown on ele force proc? Should I get one of each?
I don't anticipate playing survival much, but want to enchant weapons just in case.
