Another BG, another jump exploit - BAN THIS RIGHT NOW! Thanks

A good friend of mine told me once,

"Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience."

I'm just gonna follow that. I'm not going to be baited into drawing out a pointless "discussion" with somebody intentionally playing dumb and intentionally degrading the quality of the games, community morale and bracket in general.

wait, can you answer me one question:

Do you or do you not use a script that times the jumps for you?

You are good friends with George Carlin? Rip.

I will say for some keyboards which have particularly bad or tight MS this is something kinda needed to just make it doable. I am not for the jumps and I am not for Blaze's constant arguing and ridiculous justifications. I don't do jumps because my keyboard is too "tight" or whatever word you wanna use to allow two commands to be registered as simultaneous, for this reason I have debated using a W+Space button command but I'm in two minds. All I can say is that for some keyboards it's that or some jumps are just not doable (Ones that go from ledge to ledge)

The rest of this post is now in regards to Blaze.

The only reason any of the WSG jumps are allowed is to throw YOU a bone because YOU are the only one who does them to this extent. Because these jumps allow an alternative path they are interesting but some are still pretty tough. People don't want them to be there but boostz decided taking away every jump was too harsh on YOU specifically. Don't throw it back in his face like this.

Yes the jump you are doing gives you a line to attack people who cap a node from certain directions not all, yes you can just line the person doing the jump and cap the base. But you can also spamheal your team almost completely safely because of the melee distance it gives you, the only way up there is a jump which is admittedly easy but IT'S THE ONLY WAY UP THERE. Jumps that allow you to flat out defend the position you have jumped to AND give some sort of gameplay benefit should be banned flat out. They promote a stalling gameplay involving protecting of the spot where the jump is done to prevent anyone reaching the person who did the jump, there was the same problem with TP house as it was a "1 way up X ways down" jump with LoS. Though this AB jump isn't quite as abusable and useful, it still promotes the same style of gameplay. This gameplay, as stated before, should be banned.

AB and BFG should have no jumps, period. The map isn't about escaping the enemy or getting to better positions. It's about fighting for various nodes on a map, something I can't see jumping enhancing at all.

As everyone else has said, you are just wrong on this one. And though I won't personally insult you because you are my friend. If you're never going to listen then what others have said to you will eventually ring true for me too.

Done posting in this thread so don't try and write a "constructive" argument about this.

Damn mvp u are a lil attention whoring hoe its hilarious when u get all shaky under true pressure to perform jumps and u just fucking blow it, my boy randylayhee could show u a thing or two about keepin a cool head.

the only jump that truely needs the ban is horde fence from GY to up top, its fkn broken for horde players who rez to fall back on d and would never be allowed in premades

the jump to go into GY is fine, but the one to go up top is so stupid and so easy that it needs to be banned.

And to some extents Introducing...the Scrub — Sirlin.Net — Game Design

Inotherwords we all should be grateful for Blaze to making it obvious how obnoxious jumps are so that they`re banned right now instead of someone actually abusing that during the TC. Because, you know, it`s too late to ban them by then.

Oh, and something being an /exploit/ or not should have zero impact on whether it should be actually banned, or not. Games are, after all, about finding - and abusing - exploits in the most creative (yet fair) way!

I love that article "What Should Be Banned" :) Read it many times.

What a bunch of noobs crying over simple jumps. Here ill even tell you how to get ON TOP of stables, sound fair enough to you? and how come no one ever sees ME exploiting? I agree that the jump should be banned. People with High Latency also participate so it would be a pain for them to get on top in the heat of battle.

It appears that the 30-39 bracket is bleeding players due to the restrictions that have been placed on open game play recently. Why in the world there would be restrictions on open gameplay is beyond me. There is no way to enforce it. Do you actually believe that everyone that queues 39's posts here on TI? Or even visits TI. Sure, they may read the forum. But, who in their right mind would want to get embroiled in all this mess?
At any given time there is three to five times as many 'guests' than 'member' perusing TI.
These restrictions are just choking the life out of this bracket. Even people in this very thread have threatened to quit because of them in open play. They(the restrictions) are getting ludicrous.
Restrictions are fine for premades. But let's please keep them out of open game play. Otherwise 39's will have a short lifespan.

/cheers

I was talking about the twink cup bro, If it open world who gives a f'ck? If this thread was made on the basis of Open World then i am afraid to say your words or actions wont change the thousands of people who play 39 bracket and it is utterly useless to debate anymore. Do what ever you want, exploit Freely! :)

Of coarse, ALL of these threads are about open PuG games. We have not done any 10 v 10s.
We have separate threads made specifically for TC rules. People are restricting the 39's to DEATH, quite literally.
Why someone should be in 'charge' of PuG games is beyond me. No one is going to tell me what I can and can't do in a PuG game. I am not going to consult someone to see if it is 'okay' to do something. That is crazy talk. It is a game to be played for fun.

Excellent posts you guise. Guess that means a team of 4 ferals 3 BMs and 3 discs all spamming arcane/fel iron/flash bombs and GY camping(then jumping up the GY using their mouse macros) to camp INSIDE the GY should be fair game.

You make very valid points, and nobody is on the opposite end of not wanting to queue because of bullshit like a single player holding a flag in spots you literally CANNOT REACH if you don't know exactly where to jump and have a macro to crutch on of your own... and this going on for evenings at a time.

It's the rules trying to impose a bit of fair play and an even playing field that are "bleeding players."

Lets review the "ludicrous" rules as things stand, shall we?

1. Don't be a feral -- because ferals randomly oneshot people, and pretty frequently. It's impossible to survive as an FC at anything approaching mid-high stacks when a single feral pounces on you. Several other classes simply die in a random feral opener as well.

2. Don't be a BM spamming guard at mid -- BMs have a high amount of team utility in the use of their teamwide AOE spammable ranged slow, and do a shitton of aoe burst damage every few seconds with keg smash. They have offheals and good mobility. They don't need to ALSO have over twice any other 'DPS' class's effective health pool, being unkillable outside of heavily coordinated burst(something you don't really find in PuGs)

3. Don't spam flash bombs, a 10sec fear that doesn't DR with other fears or stuns, doesn't break on damage, and basically spells death for any druid or shaman in beast form.
And don't spam Arcane Bombs, an aoe 5s silence. Have you seen what half the melee classes and spriests can do in 5 seconds? With a 1min CD you turn literally any teamfight into a steamroll when the healers can't heal all the mongo this bracket has nowadays.

and lastly, 4. ) stop being a douchebag tryhard and doing nothing but jump exploits when the enemy team doesn't even have a dedicated FC, and when they do nobody else is trying to do that shit. The bracket just wants normal games for fuck's sake.
And with the increasing popularity of mechanical keyboards, it's quite possible people CAN'T follow you unless they also use a ToS-breaking hardware macro.

Rule 4 is paraphrased slightly.

Anyway, there are always going to be selfish, pigheaded and toxic twinks in any bracket. Ones that don't care about the other 19 players and do what they want regardless of how it affects games.

Y'all stay classy.

This jump has been around since wotlk, I did it in an RBG against bailamos and he flipped out. Only half of the cap is defendable from this spot. Yah its annoying and should be banned for a tourney but in pugs? Its not even game breaking. People just need to be aware.

You're so obtuse. 39s bleeds players because every week 1-2 people decide to ruin the night for everyone else. Like we can't just queue up, play games and have fun, someone has to find some tiny advantage and faceroll their character while laughing at their own amazing play.

The only reason we even have to create rules is because players can't not be douchebags. It really is just that.
