With the outstanding growth this bracket has had in the last month, a few friends and I have decided to attempt the first ever 80-89 arena tournament. This tournament will take place on Sunday, July 14th at 8:30pm EST. This will be an experiment to see if enough people in the bracket are interested in competitive arenas.
If we get enough people to come out I’d love to host more.
The tournament teams are created via registration on the Challonge website. The link to which will be posted later on in the post. Anyone who's looking for a partner and wants to participate can use the Bnet community group, discord, and this forum to find someone.
Tournament Rules (subject to change):
-Require at least 8 teams for the tournament to occur
-No double healer comp
-No use of [Pendant of the Violet Eye] or [Meteorite Crystal]
-No double rogue
Yes, comps such as double ret were thought of and deemed appropriate for this tournament. Although they are strong, they are not game breaking and can be countered with correct counter play. Unlike rogues which can kill any team after a said amount of sitting in stealth and rotating through CDs.
Important: You are limited to two members to each team BUT NOT TWO CHARACTERS. If at any point you would like to change the comp you are playing you are allowed to do so. As long as the character being switched to is owned by one of the two team members.(yes this gives an advantage to multiclassers and may be subject to change but unlikely due to how badly some comps counter others).
Prizes:
-1st Place: 1 WoW Token
-2nd Place: 3/4ths a WoW Token
-3rd Place: 1/4th a WoW Token
The prize gold will be given to the winners on Alliance-Stormrage after the tournament is complete.
It would be beneficial if everyone capable of streaming would stream during this tournament so the rest of the players could watch the matches they're not in.

OPTIONAL AND OPEN FOR DISCUSSION:
I’m only able to stream the games that I am in. But I was thinking of creating a spectator option by assigning a mod/someone with streaming capabilities to be a 3rd member on a team and watching the game from a different POV in stealth so that the audience can see the games that no one can stream. If this seems like a good idea let me know and I’d be happy to do it.
