20s Arena Rating Leaderboard?

Hey guys. I remember seeing a post about a macro/arena rating leaderboard that used to be maintained for twinks competing in arenas (specifically 20s bracket). I tried doing a search for it but couldn't find anything.

I'm working on SquadOV (a WoW arena VOD replay app) and we recently added a player page that helps keep track of each players' rating (along with other cool stuff such as spec, talents, gear, spells casted, etc.). Would you guys be interested in a live leaderboard for 20s arena players?

Here's a sample screenshot:

Hi, check out this post as this is something we have tried to revive https://xpoff.com/threads/is-the-ladder-ever-coming-back.96303/

How are you pulling rating? There are a few addons that can show rating on mouseover in game but we haven't been able to grab it via API since SL.

It looks like this is a wow addon, so we still have the issue of exporting this data which requires:

1.) Some program to upload your addon data to a host, and the user run it daily?
2.) The end user not manipulate this data

We're able to pull the rating from the users' local wow logs - don't use the api! So essentially it'd be a leaderboard of all the matches SquadOV sees

I'd definitely be interested in talking more offline to see how we can get this going. 20s bracket is super interesting and I'd love for us to help out if we (reasonably) could

So I gave SquadOV a shot today and I think it could be decently useful in getting an official skirmish "Bracket" or "Season" started with the help of their devs :PepeComfy:

The Good:
  • It records VODs, results, and the combat logs of the matches.
  • It also shows each players equipped gear (I don't know if it can detect weapon swapping)
  • It shows your current skirmish rating
The Bad
  • The UI (seriously could use a UI/UX facelift but that's kind of nitpicky)

How would this work?
1. Someone, probably myself or another coord would start a "Squad" in SquadOV
2. Start a thread with the invite code and information about the bracket (start/end date, etc)
3. People start joining the Squad and start playing skirmishes.
4. At the end of the bracket date, we calculate (hopefully not manually) the win/loss of everyone in the bracket and award points for each win. Team with the most points wins the season.

I know this won't combat people running shit like double surv hunter but I mean, if we want a skirm bracket back... this is probably a decent start.

Alternatively we could try to just get the devs to see if we could pull the skirmish rating of all squad members at a given time and get that automatically uploaded to a page here on xp off
(for more of a traditional style Ladder that keeps up with the in-game seasons)

Thoughts?

dang dude thats super cool, so how do these squads work? Would you need to make a team to be given a rating? or is solo que skirms a thing? either way this is a really interesting idea and the fact you are going out of your way for it is awesome.

A squad is more like a group of people, so it would be like XPOff SL Season 1. and it would just be for the duration of the ladder that we would run. I gotta see if I can get in contact with a dev to see if they would be willing to implement something (I would assume is) pretty simple

Random bump - is anyone down to help out and play a few games for SquadOV testing purposes? US Server

Specifically, I want to test if we are able to see opponents' POVs if we're all in the same Squad and how MMR changes between games. Been thinking about a SquadOV-XPOFF-20s Squad Excel Leaderboard if anyones interested

DM me or send me a message on discord: derek#5307

thanks guys
