Heres a music lesson:
1) Synths, midi drums with predictable kick/snare patterns and black guys talking about "the hood" do not make for an interesting song.
2) Lyrics are a tiny part of a song, you implying that lyrics are everything shows your ignorance. Yeah, infact I would rather listen to some blackmetal satanist scream about murdering and raping than some uneducated white guy talking about how its tough to make it in the rap music business. Granted, black metal isn't my cup of tea, but just about anything is superior to rap.
3) If you are still scratching your head about the polyrhythm predicament, heres a quick run through in the easiest possible way to comprehend. Music = Maths. Time signatures are all about counting, a 4/4 time signature has 4 beats in a bar, a 5/8 time signature has 5 beats in a bar, imagine counting 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5. A polyrhythm is two time signatures played at the same time, usually performed by the drummer. Heres an example of a 4/4 5/8 polyrhythm.
4/4: 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1
5/8: 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5 1
This means you have to play 5 bars of 4/4 and 4 bars of 5/8 before the beats start a new bar at the same time.
