. I thought mages were op in cata and decent now, but definately not overpowered. Also, everyone who plays this bracket a bit knows I almost never queue up as booomkin. Your edit, arkant was afk most of the time, we had scabere doing 1/8 of my dmg and then we had syncmodex.yes, you did actually have a decent team in a game or two, obviously the picture you linked is not one of them.

Apologies for "stealing" idc's statement. Didn't read the entire thread just a few selected posts. My theory (from own experience) on why the bracket is the way it is, can be divided into 2 categories. One of which 90% of the people playing twinks today probably won't agree with.
1. Skirmishes gone. Almost everyone I used to play with at the 19 bracket did it for the arena.
2. People simply don't like the way the game is played @19, or in general these days. Dmg too high, healing too high, lack of utility on 90% of all classes - last 10% have insane utility. Etc etc etc.

If you look on the date, time and efc on that picture it will prove it's from yesterdays match against tl. And if you look further and look on the ally team, you'll see 6 players and 4 of them is ungeared.
30 seconds later Mesik joins, I know he is good, but does he really count as 2 druids?

I honestly wouldn't know. I, together with almost everyone I twinked with quit on the 19 bracket in cata - so I'd expect there was a significant die-off. Maybe not one immediately noticeable? Or maybe people playing in cataclysm "finally" (I use the word lossly) got tired of only doing battlegrounds all the time.
I realise that some 19s still do wargames - which I admire them for putting together. But it's just not the same as an active skirmish vs random people.
