Here are my own thoughts:

This event was very good for just 3 days of planning. I think this shows how strong the F2P community is.

I will start by listing some of the problems and improvements that I saw.

1. Attacking the Stone

A few times one faction pushed the other all the way back to the summoning stone and kept attacking.

The original purpose was for people to fight to control the middle zone but it turned out to be a battle on the pathway and not much happened inside the fort zone.

We need to rethink how to make "Objectives" part of the WPvP so people just don't keep pushing the enemy to the stone.

At the end I put up raid markers making a line as a limit so Horde did not keep pushing. I think next time I will put markers on both sides so people do not get too close to the enemy summoning stone.

2. Summoning

As from the video you can see that summoning was not a perfect solution and when a lot of people died it took awhile for the summoners to get them back inside. We can try to think how to make this a faster process.

It was also difficult for the summoners to look through the raid template and find the right target.

One thing you could do is use the Select Role feature to notify that you need a summon. Anyone with a role symbol could be targeted and summoned very easy, and once summoned to take the role off so your raid frame is clear.

AP members were able to ask for summons in the F2Pchannel, while CRZ members really had no way to communicate with us.

3. The GY

There were a few problems with people attacking at the GY but overall most everyone was respectful. Many people joined this event without knowing what was going on, so I can't really blame them for messing up.

4. Faction Balance

We had plans to set a number of healers per side and overall numbers, but as the event started I was very busy and basically just invited everyone and did not check what role they are.

However, when one side was too dominate I saw many players log off and switch to the other side. A few times in raid I also asked for some people to switch over. It is a pretty good way of keeping the teams even.

Thank you to the people that switched over and helped turn the tide. Once again this shows the strength of the F2P community and the ability for people to PvP while still being respectful for the overall event.

Also want to give special thanks to the Moonguard Alliance who joined us, they provided a group of solid players that helped form the core of the Alliance.

5. Cross Realm

The event lasted for about 2 hours and 30 minutes with Alliance and Horde each having 20+. From that about 10 were people not from Aerie Peak.

I invited these people at the very start of the event. My plan was to continue managing the CRZ invites and allow people to change classes but I was too busy. I know that some people were whispering me if they could join from another realm.

Next time I will recruit another P2P to help organize that so while I am making the stones then the other P2P could help with the CRZ and things will be more smooth.

it was a lot of fun, but i think we need more routes to attack from than just one path to open it up a bit and increase strategy/variety a bit. i also think that hunters could be acceptable as long as theres only like 2 or so per side. but yea as i mentioned, we need more attack routes to make it diverse and maybe buildings to fight in.

great for the first time though!

I was just about to find the recruitment thread and reply with feedback :)

The event was just fantastic, everyone seems to have had a good time from what I saw. Friendly competition between familiar faces and overall respect and integrity from both sides. We saw a lot of different classes represented which added a lot of flavor to the overall fight. I was also impressed with the heals on Horde side. For the 1st couple of battles, Horde dominated and we rarely had anyone die but as the event progressed, alliance started to pick up momentum which turned the whole thing around near the end of the event.

Overall. 10/10. The MOST amount of fun I've had in a long time in wow and I hope everyone else who participated had as much fun as I did :)

I totally agree. Since we didn't know exactly how many people would show we picked the areas accordingly. Due to the large turnout, it looks like we can open up the zone more and have new objectives.

I agree with the allowance of hunters, but keep it limited to 2-3 per side.

I don't know how other people felt about elemental shamans and thunderstorm, but to me I its seemed a bit unfair in certain locations. I think that tstorm and dominate mind shouldnt be allowed to send other players over cliffs. Imo the spells shouldn't be banned completely, just not allowed to be used to send other players over the cliffs.

lol it think ts was fine . just ment you had to hug the wall a little . :p also i must say i loved not having hunters. and as well it was the most fun i had in a long time on my ally rogue and horde lock. something to do with the temple in the center could be awesome !

The event was pretty awesome, and like other people said larger area/objective would be nice. Im thinking maybe do king of the hill kinda thing with the middle would be cool.

I liked that there were no hunters, i think hunters would have totally ruined this event. I also liked the first area a lot better than the one we moved to after.I think ZG has a lot of potential in terms of organized wargames type play and even tournament/arena style play. The only real issue was properly communicating that you needed a summon. I think towards the end everyone was just posting a "+" in f2pchat for summons, which i thought worked well. People on other servers like MG had to wait a little longer I guess.

Overall, I also thought it was cool how we got to see twinks we would normally only run into in WSG. The event had an awesome global aspect to it.

We should use the area where the alliance summoned from for the next battle. It's got plenty of little huts and things for los and would let the battle be more interesting as people made more unique strategies for pushing the other side back. It was really fun, but being a melee it was just sort of run up, maybe hoj someone or even a crusader strike then run like hell back to the healers over and over again down one linear path. It would be a lot more fun imo to see people trying to flank eachother and would make a rogue's life more enjoyable as when a rogue would try to open on someone in the back lines they exploded.

Might make a mage or lock for just these events. Melee was pretty tough to pull off as the edwardo said. (or an ele shammy trololol :) )

It was really nice.

I saw somethings that were bad, a few bad apples! Getting close to GYs and attacking people who were summoning. Pretty minor but we should maybe work to /bonk those folks on the noggin' for future events!

I saw lots of old names, people that I've missed a lot, and quite a few new ones. It was a really fun event, had a nice atmosphere, it felt all around like a good thing. It's good to see so many people interested in these kinds of events, it's nice to have an alternative, especially if 5.4 doesn't go good for us. We'll have to do more events so we get really really good at it! :)

I think we need more helpers. I don't mind helping, but there were a few times were we had no one to help me summon, I couldn't summon by myself. That further becomes a problem when a group of people gets wiped, takes a few to summon that many. Also, Kochi is doing stuff on alliance and horde, we need to maybe break the work up more. Having to worry about one side is a lot of work as it is.

Wasn't there but somethings I thought of. Let hunters join, wasn't really fair but like you said it was a quick fix. Idk how many showed up but if it was 20v20 make there a limit of 3 per spec with a 5 class limit and a limit of 3 rogues, hunts for dps balance. Assuming there's 20 people I'd say a 6 healer limit would be good with no more then 3 of one healer for healing balance. It's wpvp things are supposed to die :p It sounds like ZG was really liked but I would switch it up next time to avoid the samethig twice and keep it new. If using ZG again I would recommend making your own AV map with a high lv "boss" at the end for each side since the map is so big and it's add more of a clear objective. Sorry for this wall lol.. No paragraphs on phone

Would there be a reason not to hold Wpvp events just in a remote but interesting part of the world map, like say if i found some spots in say Darkshore or Northern Barrens for us to meet up. Wouldnt that alleivate the need for locks/summoners, if we got a nice spot close to a spirit healer? I can go look for places. Just not sure if there was a reason to use the raid zone, havent tried much of these WPVP so I might be forgetting some factors.

One problem I saw was with all the Ele Shammys blowing people off, one or two times I thought it was a good utility. but 5+ times it got old having to walk all the way back up

For the next one it might be good to be a different area, and people should vote on what place to use. I REALLY like Mountain Foot Strip mine with all the explosives and los points, but there may be a problem since it is so close to Org.

As for hunters I think either keep them banned or let them come with no restrictions, unfortunately I would rather just not have any because of the way they are vs other class's.

A random place would result in death timers and people would have to wait longer to spawn. If you die multiple times the time can be 2 minutes or even longer.

A limited number of hunters or hunters with lowered damage would be possible.

I've always played with the thought of blackrock mountain... its circular on the rim so you can flank as well as an inner sanctum with chain bridges. Could lead to an epic spot imo :O

Since people are asking about different zones, there are some that have the same Death rules as ZG.

In these zones you are ported outside and automatically back to life. So we could do the same warlock summon thing at any of these but they are smaller then ZG.
