Khaos
Dare to be Optimistic
So just as I was bumping a old post of mine regarding bordem at work I thought it would be nice to ask What people do for a living, Now I know alot of people are in school and if that is the case what classes do you enjoy?
I am personally a Patient Account Representative (Aka Financial Councilor for a hospital) Its my job to help people pay for there hospital bills, helping those who do not have insurance with state aid programs and or setting them up with a payment plan at the hospital itself. I am also the Blue Cross Blue Shield Liasion for the hospital and tech work for them aswell dealing with the contracts between all the BCBS around the country keeping the contracts up to date.
Alittle bit about my pass. Until recently (last year) I was a cook for 10+ years at various resturants finally ending up at this hospital in the kitchen and becoming a licensed Diet Aid (step below Dietitian). I found my job very fulfilling actually helping patients get good food they would actually eat to help the healing process. As I was working a Job posting came up for this position and I thought I would look into it. The person Im directly under has always praised me for my Patient satisfaction in the kitchen and he personally put a reccomendation for me to get this job even though I didnt have experience in this field.
Shortly after getting the job a Rep from BCBS (our company insurance) came to me and asked if I would be interested in working with them on keeping all the contracts straight for this hospital. In a short 6 months I have learned tons and constantly being like I am making a difference actually helping people.
So what do you do for a living?
