Speed/Hallowed Ground holy paladin

Is it wargame ready, no of course not.

my gut feeling is that in the hands of a gladiator player (which i am not), this build is far better than the cookie cutter hpal even for pre-made vs pre-made.

but of course, that's just my educated guess.

you play as a healer, not a dps btw.

getting a little too obvious with the troll here, dial it back before you ruin the bit

i am not trolling, i will post some actual game footage and you will see what i mean.

i will admit that, after watching this guy play:

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/detheroc/polemistis

it changed my perspective quite a bit. all hpals i have seen would simply just heal heal heal (including xp-off's favorite / apparent hpal god @tence )

this guy takes it to another level, he does so much damage yet still heals so much, i feel that he is doing a much better job carrying his team than me being super sonic / playing catch-me-if-you-can in all my games.

but 23% mastery? i don't know anymore, how do i even gear my hpal?

you gear for you.

But from what I gather, you really like the idea of being a solo-que, mid field brawler. Which is how Polemistis play and which I would imagine benefits greatly from mastery since you gotta spend a lot of time healing yourself if you're trying to front line for your team of levelers.

i have always thought that mastery is the least useful stat (because you want vers and haste), https://www.wowhead.com/spell=43493/steady-talasite is no good because you heal yourself back up over and over anyway, you should wear non-plate pieces because plate int pieces mostly have bad stats.

i have always thought that hpal should just heal heal heal (all hpals i have seen play 90% healer)

until i saw this "front-lining" paladin play a couple of games

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/detheroc/polemistis

he was literally topping damage and healing chart, in EVENLY MATCHED games, as an hpal. if that is not "carrying your team" i don't know what is.

he was casting Shield of the Righteous left and right (which i actually thought would be an ability that you never use in PVP because you save those precious holy powers for word of glory)

have you guys heard of paradigm shift? yes, I am going through one right now.

Let's keep this thread constructive and only focus on how to gear/play hpals, i think hpal is a really easy-to-play yet hard-to-master class, I would appreciate any constructive feedback!

Sir I am a resto shaman.

I'm taking the bait and just going to make two statements since I have seen a couple misconceptions regarding Hpal and wargames:

- Hpal will die if it plays frontline in wargames, burden other healers, and consequently DPS.

- A Sonic the Hedgehog paladin will self-handedly cause their team to lose since it has no good role in WSG wargames.

This is not debatable. For emphasis, there are 10 slots on a team and both of these playstyles are not the best use of any of these slots (not even counting the fact there is a healer limit in wargames).

i don't know who you are but judging by that tone, you think you are pretty good. maybe you are/

but you should consider trying it before you bash it. some speed tert + socket gears and hallowed ground is all you need, you don't have to equip the 2-h runeblade.

How is running fast and using a 2h weapon on hpally a good idea at all? What are you thinking?

to get out of range, to LOS, to kite?

the weapon also has decent regen, if it takes 30 sec to kill you, then it effectively has +60~120 stamina.

You have 113 intellect if you want to kite people make a Druid or frost mage. I can only imagine how trash your healing and damage is. By using a 2h your armor also takes a big hit. Once again, what is wrong with your mind?

@glancealot even if you can kite out allot of dmg, with the low int are you not kind of just ignorable anyway? if you don't heal or dmg enough then people can just focus another target and decrease the effectiveness of your build significantly.

Edit: Also, i wanted to ask about your weapon choice. Do you do weapon swaps when you are not drawing heat?

this is a great suggestion.

I have a plan to adjust my gears when I sub for a couple of days (have to accounts to rotate toons between) in about a month:

1, replace helm with BC socket helm, full talasite

2, replace chest with https://www.wowhead.com/item=7375/green-whelp-armor

3, replace bracers with mail aurora bracers (more armor, also a vers>haste version, instead of haste>vers version)

4, replace leggings with BC socket, full talasite

5, replace https://www.wowhead.com/item=137440/shivermaws-jawbone with engi trinket, i need more stats, this also frees up a precious keybind.

6, come up with a 1-h+shield combo that i put on when i am not under pressure, enchant 1-h with 11SP like all other Hpal, also enchant runeblade with https://www.wowhead.com/item=112160/enchant-weapon-mark-of-blackrock will swap on runeblade when i enter super sonic mode. (it's a mini-sprint with no CD)
