SL Guide and FAQs

Too much hype - zero facts. It's just eye rolling at this point.

I'd just expect Blizzard to now allow too much nonsense. Are Hunters going to be tier 1... sure... is there going to be a tier 1 healer... sure... is there going to be a large pile of crap under that that does not really matter what you do as long as you have pocket heals... sure... just like we have now.

I doubt Blizzard will allow 18x+5 intelligence gems on your toon or super invasion gear for long while you run around full micro-peen one shotting people. They do some stupid shit, but they have always fixed extreme nonsense like that.

I would imagine we will have something like we have now... 2 or 3 abilities like Aimed Shot will carry fools, and then the rest is just a melting pot of whatever the hell.

IIRC, the armor cap was always 75% reduction from targets 3 levels above you, at max level. How the calculations work at non max level and against a similar level target, I haven't a clue.
That's a fair point.

#1 If you look at Blizz Instagram you can see it has been edited recently including updated regurarly and description says f2p until level 20.

#2 There is no way in the world that Blizz will make 10 f2p as they want new players to explore azeroth and the rest of the old exp before they get capped. Whole reason behind 10-50 expansion choice is for new players to get into the game so they get hooked and buy SL. Its all directed for most profit.

Logic and reason says 20 will still be cap. 99% sure. 100% sure 10 wont.

Just gonna post the pic here.

I mean, f2p all the way to 20 in SL would be sick. But that social media profile doesnt mean anything. The game *is* currently free to play up to 20 and will be for another 3 weeks at least.

So... accurate social media profile is accurate.

But why would they change it to even mentioning it now, if it's gonna change soon anyways? Twitter was changed between August 5th and 9th, and it feels like they would already have decided on the level by then.

Im not familiar with what the profile said before that but I work in marketing and social media management and can tell you its highly possible whatever intern they pay to do that was told "add 'prepare to enter the shadowlands' to our social media profiles" and didnt even think about the rest of it.

No point in long speculations, we'll see soon enough. That said, lots of classes/specs get much needed tools past 10. So getting a higher cap would be sick. A lot more variety for sure.

... ya, even looking at the Twitter profile post. I can see that some one just slapped the last bit on there.

https://mobile.twitter.com/warcraft

I’m literally calling bs on that.

The latest bio that I could found was

"Share your best photographs of Azeroth using #warcraftphotography for a chance to be featured on this page!
⚔ Learn more about Battle for Azeroth"

Which didn't mention free to play at all

True, we will all see that I was right all along in some weeks.

On second read that is clearly two separate statements not one combined idea. 1) yes, you can play to 20 now... 2) you can play shadow lands in october.

And blizzard LOVES .... LOVES.... LOVES to use that trick wording in all of their ads.

100% reputation boost.... could mean you get 100% automatically or what it really means you get a 100% bonus when you do quests... the subtext is always 4 point font... the main point is always in bright gold letters with lasers coming off of them.

#1 is an invalid point because WoW GMs barely have an understanding of the game, let alone the F2P aspects of it, and they probably get paid more than some Social Media Intern. I wouldn't trust anything posted by ANY of Blizzard's social media platforms if it comes to actual in-game information.

#2 is also just an opinion, Blizzard makes 0 revenue from F2P players, and to be fair, over the years, they have been trying to restrict F2P players more and more. I'm surprised they that they decided to even keep F2P considering how many restrictions and how much time devs actually have to spend on creating these restrictions.

To be fair tho most of the restrictions are probably made with cheating/transfering things around "under the radar" in mind, etc and little to do with people "twinking or just trying the game out, as new players would be interested in none of those options.
