a life safer for me is Shadowmeld > Shard of Archstone , but you got to do it fast.. mobs will be unable to target you for 5 minutes until you move, im not sure if F2P can get it because you need to trade it with a higher lvl i guess to get it..

Oh, I think I have that toy. Never even thought to use it! That’s cool. Would have saved me countless ghost runs through the higher level zones
Didn't know where to post this, but don't take the http://www.wowhead.com/npc=73531/highwind-albatross taxi service on TI. No way to get off the damn thing as a lvl 20 as you can't kill it

If you log out over the lake at the top of the map, you'll fall into it once you log back in. Not much to do there but the view is nice.
100% possible to do all of the zones from Vanilla-Draenor (Deepholm and Quel'Danas require a summon) as pure f2p. If you have Legion on your bnet account, you can do that as well on a 20 with a port/summon to (new)Dalaran. I haven't tested an Argus summon on a 20, not sure if it would work.
For Hyjall (which I've gone to as f2p as recently as last week) you can just run up through Winterspring. When you get to the top of Winterspring, head up and around the crater/ravine thingy. You can walk right into Hyjall. Once there however, it's tricky to navigate around and there's one huge catch.
If you die in Hyjall, you are sent to a GY just outside of Astranar in Ashenvale. This means you have to spirit walk ALL THE WAY BACK to Hyjall. So be careful and patient.

I tried to Cannon up there, but kept sliding off weird terrain.
Picture is from like 2013, we had no cannon back then, had to jump.
Wow, I'm impressed. I should stop being so lazy and try the Cannon approach again.
I'm sure this is old news by now, but just in case, this is how I got to Mount Hyjal today without assistance:
- Get to Winterspring - e.g. Everlook Flight Master.
- Run south to Frostwhisper Gorge and stick high up on the western side.
- [Edit*: As late as you dare i.e. before you get killed, queue for a Random Battleground and/or Dungeon. This is important.]
- If you die (likely) you'll res here:
- Head for this mound which is flat enough to plant your Darkmoon Canon:
- Aim for the conical conifer & blast off.
- When you land, run south & get killed by the mobs.
- This time you'll res here:
- Corpse run past your corpse and into Mount Hyjal through these gates:
- Once in you will start to fly. Fly up to the Nordrassil Flight Master & wait for your BG/Dungeon top pop.
- When you return you'll be alive & well in Mount Hyjal - don't forget to grab the Flight Master quickly.

This is the modern way of getting there.
Back in the day I had to do that horrid run from Ashenvale every time u would die in Hyjal.
Did u die in Hyjal trying, and if so, does it still kick u to Ashenvale?
Hi all I'm quite new here. Currently trying to get to Nordrassil... for the mission called Lunar Preservation.
followed your steps and ghost-walked to Nordrassil FP. but.. ah.. how do I queue for BG/Dungeon while dead???

Queue while alive, ghost run there during queue. You could group with someone and have them log off to pause your queue

epic will never pop lol. Just que for a BG. they take 5-10 minutes. plenty of time

Mount Hyjal is a Cataclysm zone, so you'll get high-speed ghost-flight. Just aim straight for Nordrassil and don't accept the pop until you get there.
It usually takes like 20min to get to Nordrassil though. gotta ghost-walk from Ashenvale grave...
Oh nvm I guess I could just queue BG and die somewhere near Winterspring grave and then just fly to Nordrassil while waiting for a BG to pop. think I can do that.. right?

There's your issue... re-read the original instructions. The whole point was to "Queue & Die" just outside of the Mount Hyjal gates, precisely to avoid having to walk from Ashenvale.It usually takes like 20min to get to Nordrassil though. gotta ghost-walk from Ashenvale grave...
