29 Twink Spriest

I've been putting together builds for every class at 19/29/39 in my private discord, and that looks extremely similar to what I've been working with. The only thing I'd change are the bracers. I personally, would use https://classic.wowhead.com/item=2032/gallan-cuffs

I'd use this for gear. Shadow priest is interesting because it can be built in multiple ways from both a gear and talent perspective.

https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/priest/--05023041032 is my preferred spec.

I think you have a good spec but some things to consider:

1. MB is on an 8 second cool down. MF is a 3 sec cast. if you get 4/5 imp MB you will be at exactly 6 seconds. This allows for an instant MB after 2 consecutive full cast MF.
2. There are essentially 5 floater points. I put them in range and shadow weaving. Shadow weaving IMO is a very solid talent and is useful from both a dmg perspective and also a dispel dump for enemy priests...wasting their mana
3. I could see the viability of going 5/5 SW but losing the range does hurt a lot and i think 40% may be viable enough, especially as a troll if hex (unconfirmed) and shadowguard (confirmed) can apply SW
4. Mana is your enemy. Try to carry around mana pots as it is your limiting factor and huge one at that...especially with full shadow gear

Looks pretty good to me. Your choices of mantle and cloak make sense for a Spriest, but mana will be an issue as someone else already mentioned. You could rely on weapon swapping between 22 int / spell power / spirit sets to make up for this.

Thanks for the replies/advice! Yeah I haven't twinked in about 10 years so it's a little blurry on what to do. Yes I'll definitely go with the Gallan Cuffs! And that's an interesting take, to just max out shadow damage. I was trying to kind of do a mix of damage and stats with the build I was going for. But yeah I'll definitely have stacks of pots and elixirs at all times to help out with mana issues. There is definitely a few different specs I wanna play around with until I see what seems to be best.

Just tested and can confirm Hex of Weakness does *not* proc Shadow Weaving.
Shadowguard can proc Blackout though ^^

I decided not to reduce MB cd as it's a big mana-eater, instead putting the 4 points into Psychic Scream and Unbreakable Will.
i.e. I want to fear a lot and not be feared in return :p

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I would like to discuss different talent builds. Improved swp sounds great, but I don't see additional time after 18sec being worthwhile, especially if the target dies or it gets dispelled. Reduced scream cd also sounds great but not sure if the 2 points is worth a 4sec reduction when those points can be spent to reduce mind blast a further further second.

https://classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/priest/--05005221032 was my original plan, but I am still undecided if I should place those 2 points in scream into improved swp or mindblast.

0/0/20 or 0/2/18
Also when it comes to gear you need 4 sets.

Flag Carry from A to B (heavy on stam and enough intellect) if intel looks good spam rank 1 pain on the baddies.

Meltface (Shadow Wrath Gear) real good for efc quick takedown especially if undead, pain plus DP is 115 dps together per tic x8 tics.

Stable (like what you posted)

Healing.

just a quick tip : the strongest shadowpriest, or priest in general, is one who is able to dispell. if you dispell a polymorph thats better than hitting a mind blast c rit! :) usually

2 in unbreakable will just seems like a huge loss in damage potential imo. The toss up for me is an extra 2 in mindblast, scream or swp.

I know going oom is gonna be the biggest issue.

Really the biggest issue is that it's a terrible spec that brings very little to the battle compared to Disc. Roll a Warlock if you want to play with shadows.

and its as easy as a simple respec to go back disc ;)

I've always found shadow to be an interesting spec and especially so with the toolkit provided at 29. There are specs far worse off in terms of damage/support.

I've been playing SPriest almost exclusively in the 29 bracket. It can be fun to burst down an FC and the reduced cooldown on scream as been nice in more than a few big fights.

That said, I absolutely despise how often I find myself drinking because of mana problems. I actually went disc last weekend and I think i'll probably stay there from now on.

Also, pretty much everyone assumes you're a healer anyway. I get trained almost every game. It's totally fine and expected at this point, but not when you're hoping to be qing damage as spriest.

bumping this back up so I don't need to make new thread ...

What is everyone's take on BiS wep for 29 disc priest (ally). Options:

- 9/9 eagle staff
- sleepwalker (11 int / 10 spirit)
- wind spirit (3 stam / 5 int / 15 spirit)
- RFK mace / pouch (10 stam / 1 spirit & +11 healing)

Dont think I am missing anything ... thx

Can i ask whats the best talent build for this bracket?

i went pure Disc but i feel like im missing out on mind flay.

i have no issues tbh, just curious, as i see lots of priests in wsg spamming it and feel like im missing something there

I’m having a lot of fun with the spec I posted previously and decided to keep the 2 points in improved psychic scream for everyday queuing.

I’ve also had fun moving points in scream to improved mindblast and then moving the points in shadow reach to shadow weaving for a burstier build, but its hard to justify losing the range.
