Bracket for one shotting twinks?

For killing levelers in 1 hit, 19 is the best bracket.

For killing other twinks...That's hard to say. My 59 Warlock can down other twinks in a 2-3 second window with chaos bolt. My 70 Hunter can 1 shot other twinks assuming I get a critical opener with aimed shot + get the proc to deal 2x damage. Arcane Mages are capable, potentially fire as well. Sounds strange, but 59 Mistweaver can 1 shot with 4x Blackouts / RSK during crane. 59 Druids can double starsurge and 1 shot (me being one of the weaker balance druids in the bracket can even do it)

Fire and Frost mage, and Destro locks can also if you get lucky - mostly 2 shotters

110 afflock with 100 stack drain life one shots fresh 120's

100 stack drain life one shots anything at 110 with a full cast as long as they arent being spam healed.

The setup takes awhile, but its pretty fun to watch someone try to line of sight a drain life and just fall over dead lol

"One-Shot" has had several different definitions over the years.
I consider a 1 shot to be someone that dies after one hit or... dies in a very short amount of time. 1 Global in my opinion (no matter how many things hit u) is a short enough time to consider something a one shot... you simply don't have time to react or counter it.

Then you get globaled. 1 shot is 1 shot, not much more computer than that. It never har any other meaning people just use it wrong sometimes.

I don't really know what your argument is when every single wow video on the first page when I searched 'wow one shot' fits my definition over yours...

Here is a pretty proper one. The reason people use it wrong is because one shots dont really happen in wow atleast not anymore.

One shot - to me atleast, since tcb. Meant killing someone in a very short amount of time. Maximum 2, maybe 3 gobals....

Where in that video did he 'one shot' as per your definition? I stopped watching after he ganked level 66's in greens.

Doesnt seem to work to link them at specific time stamps here but at around 3:45. Dunno if it happens again I just looked for a video for a PoM pyro cause thats one of the few times people were actually able to one shot.

Yeah, he hit a guy with 90% hp who was clearly in greens. He had 6.3k health when a geared warlock would have 8-10k hp.

The only time you'd get a good 1 shot on a geared player would be to hard cast pyro and PoM pyro straight after with both critting

Yes, but why are you obsessed with gear. It is a one shot. It is in the words one shot, one attack the gear is irrelevant. Using multiple abilities to kill a geared player while it might be more aweinspiring is no longer a one shot because it didn't take one shot.

That is correct. True one shots versus another comparable geared character don’t happen any more. So in order to make players feel good about themselves some quite literally changed the definition over time as opposed to using the correct terminology.
In other words, the word has been dumbed down to make it seem better than it really is. Sort of like “epics for everyone!”.
Even in that video you displayed the mage didn’t “one shot” those players without help. A lot of the foes it was versus had over 10k health and it only did 7k-8k damage. I wouldn’t call 2-4 vs one player a one shot. Especially if the other people are already beating on the other player. Don’t get me wrong, I am not disagreeing with you, there once was a time when we had a plethora of on use trinkets to choose from and we could benefit from set bonuses. Those days are gone from a lot of lower brackets.

The point is that a 'One Shot' in wow is the following:
Someone dies with one ability or in a very short amount of time (1-2/3 Globals).
Now this is also known as misnomer. Where the language doesn't exactly match up with reality.

It's always been that way when playing wow because as you said, killing someone with one ability is very rare.

Look, language and the definitions that words/phrases hold change. Again, I implore you to to look up misnomer. There will be countless examples you use in your day to day lives.

The wow community uses the phrase 'one shot' in the same way.

i really like one-shots also, back in tbc it was in a certain way the reason that made me spend tons of gold in gear to twink my toons. The main reason was that as a leveller i got one-shoted all the time by other twinks
If the qq people in blizzard forum read threads like this they gonna qq even more for seperate queue
