XP Block turned off

Your zany (and thoroughly wonderful) quest to get to level 21+ on a Starter account.

IAT asked what you meant by his 'quest', to which I gave an answer. Considering you were the one bringing it up in the first place (in jest), your reaction is a bit screwy.

I'd say you're naive if you think no Blizzard employee would ever have a look on a website that not only in the past has posted about bugs, exploits and how best to finnagle Quest reward-trades from GM's (to name just a few), but is also referred to as the go to info source on a (to use the common perspective) notorious sub-culture in WoW.

Back to the topic at hand, this might end up biting Blizzard in the ass (at least a bit):

- a newcomer experiencing the typical getting blown-up-by-Heirlooms scenario will look at the Fora, see the 'solution' given (''just Lock XP and grind'') only to find out he's unable to do so;

- . Adds saying WoW is now F2P till level 20 plaster the web (including in Dutch), yet the moment people try PvP they will be confronted by what essentially have become P2Win advantages, something in the past the Dev's said they'd never do but more importantly is frowned upon by many of the MMO market and certainly the bloggers etc.

So, I was making a new character because I accidentally vendored some good quest gear on my current one, and I was trying to decide whether to try out the level 19 bracket as a F2P. Looks like Blizzard made up my mind for me.

Talked to a GM again today about this and the XP-Off placement of Starters. I found it rather odd that before level 20 XP-Off BG's are verboten and at 20 mandatory.

While it wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, the gist of the conversation was that the idea is that the current set-up will 'force' people to pay to be able to gear up pre-20 (needing the Lock to gear vs 'looms) and to 'escape' the 20-24 Twink bracket.

Call me naive, but I didn't expect Blizzard to be this cynical.

I was reading the BG forum thread on the WOW site and the XP-off people for the 10-14 and 15-19 were complaining about 5+ hour queues (unless those brackets organized something at scheduled time).

Dumb move from Blizzard imho. Also, its ironic that these 2 brackets scream and yell when the F2P's turn off their xp and claim "they ruin the bracket", then cry about queue times because no one is queuing.

Going by http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2868706855 the XP-On queues past 20 aren't all that fast as well, either. It is possible that besides the other issues with early level PvP, the lack of Trial players past 20 is making the pool of players a lot smaller as well (10-14 and 15-19 XP-On are abt. 5 minutes for both factions in my experience).

Wonder when Blizz will have the balls to replace Heirlooms with XP-Elixers from an item shop that accepts both cash and justice points, 'to counter power-levelling services and account sale' (and hence account theft etc.).
