Using Medallion of the legion

You can get 2 of those Reputations without the Medallion, it just requires TONS of killing with a 100 while your toon is following, dead/alive. Those are Saberstalkers and Frostwolf/Council.

Are there any rewards for having those exalted?

Only Saberstalkers, a Cloak that you can equip at any level. For the rest, you can buy a Helm xmog from Laughing Skull Orcs and w/e the Alliance counterpart is, I think it's body pcs for xmog. It requires doing TONS of (while you're alive) killing of Saberstalkers or just get in on a Kazzak kill once that gives you the 1K Crystals needed.

Isnt there also a pet you can buy from saberstalkers? And a pet and toy from order of the awakened?
