When He Hits Them, They Crumble

People get punched all the time in boxing, why would 1 single punch make him fall

the shot you don't see coming is always the one that does you in.

thing is, if aldo had won, they would have given the mick an immediate rematch, wonder if douchebag dana will do the same for aldo or if it'll be no way jose

of course he wont

ufc is run by hypocrites.

dana gonna be like how does he deserve a rematch? meanwhile rousey just got her head kicked into the nosebleeds and she's getting a rematch

Conor already had plans for moving up weight divisions, you shmucks. He said it himself; he was going to clean out the featherweight division, then move up to the 55 division and claim that title as well.

edit: oh, and p.s. We've been talking about Aldo - McGregor for over a year. Most people are done hearing about it. It's been settled. The better man won. Maybe if Aldo wouldn't have dropped out of the first fight, we could perhaps discuss a rematch.

The only UFC featherweight champion for 5 years. Undefeated for 10 years.

dude deserves the opportunity to at least TRY and avenge that loss.

Doesn't matter. Conor already stated what his plans were when he promised to put Aldo away within 4 minutes of the first round then head up to the 55 division! His coach already told Dana he can't make that weight again before the Aldo fight happened anyway. Deal with it, homeboy.

I agree he does deserve it, though. It's just not in his cards. If anything, Conor said he would maybe make an exception for one more fight to have a go at Edgar, but who knows. By the sounds of it, Conor will be in a different weight class after have cleaned out the featherweight division, come the new year. Just as he predicted.

edit 3: Random, but I had the ko punch wrong. Thought it was a southpaw check hook, but naw it's just a left cross. My drunken eyes deceived me.

He has no plans on vacating his title which would imply he's still willing to make the cut to 145.

He also will not be able to hold both titles at the same time. If he gets injured and is on layoff it causes a lot of problems and backs up not one but TWO weight classes.

In a perfect world where he doesn't get injured he would have to fight at least 4 times a year. Other fighters have done this, Donald Cerrone fought like 6 times in 2014 but Cerrone wasn't a champ then. A 3 rd training camp and a 5 rd training camp are completely different and take a toll on the body. He would run his body into the ground trying to hold two titles.

Conor still has 2-3 fights left at Featherweight before anyone can say the division has been cleaned out. (not many contenders atm in FW)

He has a rematch with Aldo, a fight with Edgar (5 fight win streak) & a rematch with Max Holloway (8 fight win streak)

As I previously stated, he said he would consider fighting Frankie after seeing Frankie's performance in the Mendes fight. But that he stated he would clean out the division, meaning: beat the people who mattered; most importantly dethroning the seemingly invincible champ, and get the fuck outta dodge. This all was said before Frankie was even part of the discussion for title contention. That being said, he already said he wanted to move out of the division anyway, and fight for the title at 155. His coach also said he doesn't want Conor making this weight anymore -- despite Conor's confidence in making the weight, his coach knows what's better for him when it comes to that, I'm sure.

Stop acting like this all happened after the Aldo fight randomly. This was already planned if he won, and he did win. But again, whatever Conor decides to do is ultimately up to him. He's the one bringing in the money and backs it all up.

Just re-watched the presser, it looks like you're right -- he has no plans vacating the belt as of that night. I still feel like his coach will step in and try to convince him otherwise.

edit: For the record, Frankie deserves a title shot more than Aldo does, all things considered. Priority should look something like this: Frankie > Aldo > Holloway.

He does deserve a shot and it's unfortunate it had to be this way for him but it's how it works. Dominant champs get a shot at redemption. It's how it's always been, and it's how it should be.

Silva got a rematch vs Weidman.
Barao got a rematch vs Dillashaw.
Cain is getting a rematch vs Werdum.
Rousey is getting a rematch vs Holm.

This is an easy one. There wasn't that much competition for the then new champs in their respective divisions, so the immediate rematch with the dethroned champs made sense. Aldo has also pulled out of fights before, and has prolonged this thing to the point of it becoming tiring. Frankie has had one hell of a rise (looked phenomenal in his last fight against the guy who arguably should have beat Aldo in Aldo's backyard), and deserves that comeback shot at the belt before Aldo does.

The Aldo - Mcgregor fight also wasn't close. Aldo got put to sleep, just like Ronda did; another fight I don't agree should happen, but w/e.

Middleweight had like 1-2 other contenders at the time, 3-4 as of now.
Bantamweight had 1-2 contenders at the time.
Heavyweight has 2-3 contenders atm.
W- Bantam has 2-3 contenders atm.

There was no one in the bantamweight division who had a chance at beating Dillashaw, please. Maybe Cruz if he wasn't injured at the time? Heavyweight division is a fucking joke. Get out of here with that. The women's bantamweight does not have any real contenders. Might as well change the name to the Ronda/Holly division. The Middleweight division didn't have much back then either. Weidman was the rising star who looked promising but got arguably lucky against Silva in both fights (still looked good and proved himself enough in my eyes, though.).

JDS has a win over current champ and former champ @ HW. Stipe/Arlovski

Cruz/Assuncao @ Bantam

Tate/Nunes/Pena at W-bantam

You cannot convince me any chick at 145 poses a threat to either Ronda or Holly. Those two make the best fight by far. Period. End of discussion, lol.

JDS has looked a little washed up and under par for awhile now. Cruz was injured at the time, I'm pretty sure. He's injured 24/7. Tate -- hell no. She's shown she just can't hang with the top tier. Pena, no. Nunes has looked good, but again, hasn't proved to most people that she can hang with the elite. She and Tate will get their chances after the better woman, Ronda, gets her shot at redemption first.

inb4 jds already lost 2 cain who isn't current champ

inb4 tate already lost to rousey who isn't current champ

No, your points just kinda suck. Paper doesn't mean everything. You have to actually look at the performances.
