The thing about offensive Guardian is that a well set up Bear Hug is more effective than a Ferocious Bite, in my opinion.
First, Guardian can solo healers. Or at the very least, I feel somewhat comfortable in making that assertion. It certainly isn't alone - a geared Arms Warrior can solo priest/shaman/druid healers with ease, and I think a hunter can solo the same as well.
Guardian has the added benefit of doing a high amount of true (unmitigated [non-reduced]) damage via Bleeds/Dots.
So using a bulky Feral set as Guardian (mine has 1787 health outside of bg's w/ agm/LFH), your bear hug will end up doing 30% of your bear form health divided by the reduction from resilience. Something like (10% of max health = ~218 x 3 ticks = 654 x 60% damage after resilience = ) ~393 damage. But with a 5 point Rip, a rake, and a moonfire also affecting the target - followed by a Bear Mangle for about 120 base damage (usable while in the Bear Hug Root), you'll be doing about (~240 from Rip, ~150 from Rake, ~90 from Moonfire, ~120 from Bear Mangle) 1000 damage total to the target over the duration of the Bear Hug.
If you're really able to do a set up against a healer (think 2v2 healer/dps vs healer/dps), you can actually generate 5 combo points before you bear hug and still maintain a full Rip on the target for the duration.
This means that you are able to immediately Ferocious Bite with bleeds with >50 energy, which should be doing about 500 base.
If you are Tauren, you can actually deny them a single global cooldown between the end of the Bear Hug and your shapeshift into cat form for the Bite.
Sure it's a lot more complicated and situational than Ferocious Bite, but A. It's pretty fun to set up, and B. You have the amazing defenses that come with being a Guardian Druid.
Try it out! Tell me what you guys think :3
