Warband Bank access revoked for F2Ps & Vets

Profession juggling is back on the menu, boys!
Obviously this depends on several factors but I honestly think it's easier, cheaper and faster just to pay for a month than it is to, say, learn Classic Enchanting 300. This is especially true if you have multiple alts on one account as I do (eg one Horde, one Alliance).

Here's a thought I had today: I wonder if the Warbank will be accessible come the next free to play weekend? These don't come around often but we had one in MoP Remix a few months ago. I wouldn't be surprised to see another in a year or so with another anticipated Remix.

Interestingly, that weekend caused issues because some people accidentally levelled their twinks beyond 20 then lost access to them once the weekend ended. Luckily I became aware and just stopped playing my 20 Holy Priests for a few days.

currencies that are held in bags/banks seem to work the same way as reagents, even better. i managed not only to buy stuff, but actually withdraw my polished pet charms (yes, after all these years i was naive enough to trust blizz and kept 7000 charms in this new scam called "bank"). what i did was buy smth (e.g. all duplicate pets in legion dalaran) and refund them on the spot. the refund goes to your bags instead of the "scam bank". use it while it is still possible, you never know.

Did people level up on logging in with banked XP? I figure it's not hard to turn off XP gain for the duration of the free weekend

My dream is that I will be able to use the gold in there the same way, to buy some expensive vendor items.

Got like 70k in there rn.

Yes, setting up a vet account is much easier than building a f2p toon

But f2p is it's own appeal. It's not for everyone
The sheer horrors I went through to craft a Gyrometic-Micro Adjustor on my 1st Twink, only to buy another one from the AH after I Subbed cuz I completely forgot I had 300 Classic engineering on another toon.

In Remix you were confined to Pandaria. You didn't have access to the XP locking NPCs in SW/Org. I suspect the next Remix will work similarly.

There was an "escape" however. There were videos about it. Basically, you had to go so out-of-bounds (it was in Timeless Isle) that the game didn't know where you belonged and when you were killed you came back in the "global" graveyard, which was in the Vanilla zones. You could then run (dead) to the NPC. One faction had it harder than the other. IIRC, now you queued a scenario. When the queue pops you are alive. You leave the scenario and you will be alive where you were standing... for up to ~6 seconds before the game returned you to Pandaria. People used this for speedruns and similar.

So most people didn't do any of that for obvious reasons.. I don't recall if you levelled just for logging in or you had to do something (just like when you turn XP back on). Either way a bunch of peopel unintentionally levelled their 20s. I just didn't log on from Friday until the reset.

RIP. Was fun while it lasted. But paying for a month to get everything setup will let you do a lot of what you could do before.
If you're in no hurry you might be able to do it the next free play weekend too. That's just a guess. These don't happen very often. I expect there'll be another one late 2025 based on there being on in MoP Remix. It seems to be a strategy to get players in the last patch of an expansion.

I'm probably going to just pay for a month given I have multiple alts on the account. I'm not levelling all those professions for multiple toons when $15 can solve all those problems.

I need to compile a list of everything you need to set up. Off the top of my head:

- Various enchants (Lifestealing, Armor enchants, MInor Speed or Boar's Speed, etc)
- Various gems (SL gems, Speed gems, +Stat)
- Bags
- Reagent bag
- Comfortable Rider's Barding
- Buying the Extraordinary Adventurer Augment blueprint (requires Revered Rustbolt Resistance) because it costs ~1700g and f2p is capped at 1k gold.

What else?

It's counter-intuitive, but I was going to stay subbed for a while, and then they did this and it kind of killed the desire to give them any of my money.

I was looking forward to making a twink army during the time I cancel my sub because I don't play as much, but now I'm just going to play something else and probably forget about WoW.

So, yeeaaaah... Backfired in my case. Good job, Blizzard.

Same here, actually.
For long term plans, one usually focuses on being perceived as reliable and trustworthy... If instead they are doing chaotic moves hoping to get very small gains, on the expense of the community, it will often lead to the opposite, in my humble view.
