Staff wouldn't allow that.
Bumping threads that contain information that a lot of people enjoy but cover a topic that just doesn't lead to regular discussion are fine to be bumped occasionally, especially if their OP gets updated with even more information. Or they just get stickied.
Threads that are about a temporary issue or discussion topic should drop when the discussion has exhausted itself. Deciding which is which is up to the users' and staff's discretion; in this case I think the occasional bump is fine.
