My sub is almost up and I'm prepping a lvl 20 F2P toon. I want to know if I should grind vanilla engineering for the cloaking device and other +200 engineering stuff and if Zandalari items, like Unstable Temporal Time Shifter, will work.
It used to be your toon couldn't progress professions past lvl 100 with the starter edition, but the latest articles (<13 months old) say nothing about restricting professions, like they used to.
Also, it seems some people have been burned by wasting time grinding for Jeeves and what not, only to find their crafted items can't be used due to lvl restrictions that were not shown in the recipes tooltip - I'm trying to avoid that.
If +100 professions are unrestricted, I'd like to hear some tips - e.g., in vanilla, explosive sheep would zero in on a stealthed rogue, arcane bombs would AOE silence casters, gnomish death rays could (sometimes) one shot opponents, mortars could backfire on loading and send your toon flying across the map into inaccessible areas, etc. But I hear old engineering stuff has been nerfed hard because fun was detected.
