You could do that if you wanted but that's not what I'm saying.
If your gear exceeds item level 100, that gear will be scaled down to that item level.
if you are level 81 or higher, you will be scaled down to level 80.
 
Roboartist and you talked about socketed gear with ench. ... I have no items at LvL 119 with 2 or 3 sockets, that's why I understood that these items from ICC an so on are better, because probably the gems and ench. are not scaled down. Only the stats on the gear itself scaled down. This was my context. I like the idea of going into the timeless instances with ICC- gear.

Your thoughts are correct in that gear with sockets is generally going to be better. However, some pieces of gear like Azerite gear are not bad to have as the special abilities they provide may exceed any available stat bonus you can equip with a different piece of gear,

But (many) gems and enchants ARE scaled down as well.
Example: If you put 40 agility gem in a socket, it will scale down to 5 agility in the current TW'ing.
 
I tried it myself 5 minutes ago ... the 40 haste-gem scaled down to 4 haste. But you can use the WotLK gems and ench. I think they will stay. At level 80 in the instance the Staff dying light from ICC 25 was better than my level 333 staff. I think, I will go and get some items ... ;-)

My pala dos is shite in dungeons, around 600 dps despite the gemming and old raid gear. What dps are your guys doing on the team raid? Also do we get a lockout is it one shot onlu?

Uh. yeah that's pretty bad dps if you're geared out. My ret pal can do about 1200+ dps, up to 3000+ in some aoe scenarios. You sure you got your rotation and talents down?

Thanks again for all those that came. We managed to completely fill a 25 raid with 119's, except for one 120 healer. Overall the run went pretty good, had a couple hiccups around Freya, and also tried and failed at some hardmodes. Three and half hours for a full clear. Plus the ~hour it took for the raid to get formed and everyone going.

Congrats to those who got upgrades. I got a meager 305 upgrade to my legs but hey every piece is important. Also congrats to those who had trinkets that dropped because lets be honest that probably the only reason you went :).
