545's are nerfed, 515 is the new max ilvl for lvl70s. some of my 545 items changed the ilvl to 408 but some went 551 for some reason, i can equip the 551 even tho they req lvl76 and they also give the stats they say it does.
wierd i just checked on my chars and i can still use my 551, i even swapped the items and i could still use them with the same stats they have.On my druid all my 545 gear changed to 408, on my pala all 545 are 551 and still work. They showed lvl76 req, but after relog it was gone.
Edit: All 551 gear is now unsuable. Lvl 76 req
any idea what level the toon needs to be to have the BoE greens looted have a 70 requirement? It may be worth noting that the "new" 515 jewellery is currently not eligible for the Magnificent Jewelers Setting, so sockets can not be added to them. I'm not sure this will necessarily be fixed either, so you may want to ignore those in your shopping sprees for now.
What is it with you and all this salt? Anyway, I'm almost certain they can't proc anything. I've bought over a hundred 515s now, and have looked over at least ten times that. I. Have. Not. Seen. A. Single. Proc. Of. Any. Kind. On any of them. I've been checking a dozen AHs multiple times a day. You see, I was hit pretty hard by the 545 nerf. I was doing the same thing when those first showed up, and there were upgrades galore on those pieces. In fact, I still had some waiting for the right person to give to when the bat hit, because I bought excess... This time won't be any different either, I recon, but I'm not going to try to figure out whether one of my 23 active 70s actually needs something that I know there is a click competition going for. I think I can easily afford losing the hundred gold if that's not the case (hell, I'm not even considering the option of actually putting the stuff back on the AH).just like the 545’s certain players see a means to make gold and are buying them all up to resell for 10k or more. id rather farm them in hopes of getting terts/sockets. im pretty sure members of the 70 com are farming delves but once again everything is hush hush.
Yes and no.am i seeing 545’s with 70 req on the AH again?
randomly started a rogue this week so it must be fate lol. for half an expansion i farmed the boxes out in rivendreth on another rogue for 140 purps.i actually figured out how to get one box that always spawned inside a locked hut by using the zehvra cusion toy.I can confirm now that ilvl 515 req 70 gear drops for level 75 characters. It can also be obtained from Bismuth Lockboxes opened by level 75s. However, do note that depending on the source, the lockboxes typically attach a level requirement to themselves when looted, and this matches that of the character looting them. I'm not sure about regular drops, but any boxes pick-pocketed by level 80 rogues require level 80 to open as well.
At the same time, boxes looted from the Coral-Fused Clam (and possibly any other similar treasure) don't get this treatment, and require only 70 to open, even when the looting was done by a 80. We've opened two such boxes to test, one with a level 70, and one with a 75 (the boxes themselves were both looted by 80s). The first box dropped an ilvl408 piece, the second an ilvl 515 one. This suggests that the loot is not actually generated when the box is, blizz just dirty-fixed the lockbox sources themselves to strap on a level requirement for opening the box as a way to prevent them from being funneled to lower levels. There may be a way to bypass this, but I don't currently know one.
In any case, outside of grouping and dual-boxing, the best way to farm the 515 gear right now seems to be making a 75 rogue and pick-pocketing everything. Unlike the group-with-an-xp-locked-char-and-farm-whatever, this method carries no inherent time limit (as long as you vanish instead of fighting if spotted), and has no second person/account restriction. It also comes with the convenience of being able to pick the locks on the boxes on the spot. Happy farming (just try to leave some for us, if possible)!
I only found two boxes doing this on my 70 rogue, and they were both from a solo dungeon instance. Haven't found good farm spots yet; has she had more success in certain areas than others? Or finding spots with rares/elites vs just random normal mobs?Pickpocket-farm on a 75 rogue is the basic principle. Kill nothing. Steal everything. You can open treasures that don't give XP for some extras. My partner got nearly a guild bank tab full in the 2 days since she started doing this (okay, she does play a lot, but I think that's a pretty good yield). No upgrades, so don't expect any.
80s can get lockboxes from treasures, but boxes dropped by mobs will likely require 80 to open, and thus be useless. Boxes pick-pocketed by a 80 rogue definitely are, that's what we tried first.
EDIT: on a side note, boxes looted by 70-74 probably can and should be funneled to a 75. If I had TWW, I'd probably start pick-pocketing at 70, killing the mobs afterwards, and leveling to 75 that way. We haven't tested this though, so I can't confirm whether it works or not (not yet anyway).
The rogue doing the pick-pocketing just needs to be in Khaz Algar and level 75 or below, but the level of loot does change depending on who OPENS the box. You can pick the lock on any level rogue that meets the box's level requirement, but leave the container unopened. Open them on your 75 to get level 515 greens. If you open them completely on a 70, you'll get 408s.I only found two boxes doing this on my 70 rogue, and they were both from a solo dungeon instance. Think there's any loot difference between a 70 rogue and 75?
She has a spot. Outdoors. Lots of candles. I can't tell you any more than that. I don't even know what zone it is. I'm not going to ask either. If other rogues suddenly start showing up there en-masse I'll be in big trouble (not to mention no more sweet lootz for me). Totally understandable, and thanks for the experiments! She has a spot. Outdoors. Lots of candles. I can't tell you any more than that. I don't even know what zone it is. I'm not going to ask either. She did say that it's very inconsistent - sometimes she'll get like 4 in a row, other times no drops for an hour. She checked delves beforehand, that didn't work out for her either. Didn't try dungeons, because she had this idea already, and this did seem to pan out with some perseverance. Good luck!
Oh, as for difference in loot, I don't think there is any (other than item levels), but I can't say for sure.
