To Twink or not to Twink

I'm not sure if i'm in the right place but here it goes.

I want to create a veteran twinker account.
I use to paid but now i'm only f2p and i have create a lvl 20 f2p char.
This char only have 25 ilv gear available so i want to pay subscrition again so i can make a 20 vet twink.

Since i'm gonna pay again i don't want to waste much time googling stuff, i desire to know if ther is a site or something that shows me the best in slot for my char and if i have to enter a guild to be abble to get that gear in raids or so.
As i love bg i don't want to waste much time doing pve content so i can be competitive in pvp. Currently my f2p twink is no match for vet twinks or some 20-29 chars.

I want to enter a zone where the skill matters more than the gear.

As i understand and this is the first time i try to do a vet twink, i have to block xp at level 20 and then what is sopose to do?

So in resume what i want to know is:

- Where i can find the best in slot gear for my char (the wowhead is outdated)

- Do i have to enter a guil for raiding? (If so i might consider not to twink because is hard to find a goold gild, because i don't like pve besides questing and i don't like to be dependent of others to play the game.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
There's a lot to unpack here but I'll try to answer your question briefly.

If you want to twink at 20, none of the gear youll need requires a sub. Buy a month, purchase a bunch of enchant scrolls for the various enchants you want and a bunch of gems of whatever stat distribution you prefer. If you've got the gold, finding some ilvl 28 greens on the AH with a socket and the stats you want would save you some time.

There is no one "best in slot list" because this is a brand new patch with a *huge* influx of new and available gear. We don't even really know. But right now, it looks like select TBC gem gear and ilvl 28 greens with sockets/tertiary stats are gonna be the gearing meta. That gives you a lot of freedom to work with in terms of what stats you want to focus, and thats honestly up to you.

Thank you for the fast answer Kaløyan and Chops. I was not expecting replying so fast. It seems Xpoff is the right place.

Chops, when i said i don't want to waste much time googling stuff it's because i've did that for weeks now and it was making me desperate and about to quit this project.

Both your answers where precious to me, so if i understood well i only need to:

- Buy a month, block xp and do all quests in the Legion zone to get ilv 50 gear.
- I don't need to farm specific kind of gear because there is not bis
- I don't need a guild, i can do everything alone.
- Buy enchants

Ok, so you suggest it's better to wait for SL release to get the best gear i can get for my char?

I think you should hurry up and get that Legion 50s before the nerf. If you get them now, you`ll still have them as 50s. Thats how it worked in the previous pre-patch nerfes.

Some of the guys have some BIG BIG ilevel stuff cuz they get the items in early-pre-patch. And now you cant get them, cuz they are nerfed.

Yes, but they can decide to nerf the stats not the item level. Although nerfed, as long i can get the best gear for my level i'll be happy
 
Kaloyan is wrong and I really dont want to reiterate on this thread things we've gone over on a bunch of other threads but all that stuff is getting nerfed in both ilvl and stats.

Yes, i'm reading them now. I need to understand exactly what i need to do to make the best decision.

I play wow since the WotLK, and have leveled many chars all classes, some classes more tham one time. For a guy who prefers pvp it is a lot of repeated pve quests. So i want to see if i'm willing to do all this required pve contend to get my first twink.

I hope it is worth it in the end.
 
For what it's worth , I had alot of fun gearing up and redoing old dungeons / visiting old zones. Even though I'm more PvP focused - u might enjoy the weird meta as much as I did . Goodluck

If all is working correctly then yes , you should be able to change timeline with chromie and do some of the dungeons from that expac. Some others are too high lvl for a 20 - and others you can enter by running to the instance itself and entering manually.

If i enter manually will i be able to run them alone, or difficulty scales with level?

If you're creating a veteran account there's no need as you can run yourself with your main account level 40-something+ using two instances of WoW at the same time. Even after you're unsubbed you can still be invited, just not invite.

If you want to solo at 20 it wont be easy, especially once the nerfs to 40+ilvl gear go through.

edit- if you're just maintaining you dont want to pay anymore then you're not creating anything but a new toon.
