Good stuff. 10v10 would be better but given the time frame obviously that wouldn't work. Hopefully once people see how fun the bracket is we can see a larger 20-29 tourney someday.
Living and Tapout you're awesome!
Just to clarify before people jump to conclusions, it was not me who thought of the idea, it was NWL.
They came to me about it and asked me what i thought. With the current state of twinking in mind, Tapout and i liked the idea.We did discuss alternatives for the best case scenario but we came to the conclusion that this option is the best one available.
If anyone has any concerns or wants to know more about how this came into fruition, send me a PM on either XPOFF or Discord.
Not entirely sure either, but dbm does have some nice features like initiating a countdown for swaps etc. Most commonly used in no-voice RBG's for swaps though. With voice you can obviously manage swaps just fine in an arena setting. Maybe it's due to the precision of the countdown, not having client-lag like voice coms have (all voice-coms have a minimal delay of some sort), allowing the swap synergy to be a bit more effective? There's also the psychological aspect of having a synergized swap to a countdown, as well as making it impossible to miss.
Again, I'm not sure. Just spitballing here. I can see dbm being way more effective in battlegrounds, so it would make sense to ban it there, since you have options such as radar to manage positioning strats as well etc. It could also just be the fact that these rules are LITERALLY copy pasta'd from the TC thread. Saves them time to modify the rules xd.
TL;DR
DBM:
>Radar to gain positioning advantage - knowing when you're in line of healers etc.
>Countdown for swaps
(Just spitballing, not entirely sure why it's being banned).

3v3 29 Arena Tournament: Friday 11th August

The SIX first teams to sign up will be guaranteed a spot in this tournament. If the team changes, they forfeit their position in the queue priority. If there’s a total of more than 8 teams, any team after the first six signed up teams will fight in a smaller wild card tournament on the 11th before the main event, to secure their spot in the tournament. The Winner and the runner up (2nd place) will advance into the main event. The Wildcard event will be a BO1 round robin format event to give each team an equal shot at qualifying.
We will be using Challonge to co-ordinate the team's seeding and standings in both the the 3v3 Tournament, and the Wild Card event. The Wild Card will be round robin, and the 3v3 Tournament will be a Double Elimination format. Teams will be expected to play a best of three series throughout the entirety of the main event and a best of one in the possibility of a Wild Card event. In the Grand Final of the tournament the finalists will compete in a Best of Seven to determine who emerge as the Tournament Champions.
The map selection and composition lockin's will be the same as the Official Blizzard events:
The first map is Nagrand Arena a blind pick. Both teams will pick choose their compositions without either knowing what they're facing until they're in the arena.
The maps following the blind pick map will be:
Loser picks map
Winner locks in composition
Loser locks in composition.
In the unlikely event the game is a draw, the map will be replayed.
Any form of abuse towards the hosts, commentators or any of the authority will not be tolerated. It is each player's job to be able to communicate with respect and to be as cooperative as possible. This is deemed NWL etiquette and an individual or a team may receive cautions or any of the league's punishments depend on the severity of the abuse.
In the situation where a player on a team happens to get disconnected and unable to rejoin the game or “DDOSED”, each team is allowed to request a replay of that game ONCE per series. To be eligible for a replay the gates must not have opened as when the gates are open the game is considered underway and thus is not eligible to be restarted. If your team is in doubt that a final/number of players will be ready to play upon the opening of the gates then your team must initiate leaving the game before the gates open.
Any behavior that would be considered strange, mechanically manipulative, or non-objective oriented is not permitted and may result in a penalty.
Deadly Boss Mods addon is not allowed.
No software violating Blizzard’s ToS is permitted.
Anyone can play any character on any account, as long as they are signed up on your roster. When you sign players up to your roster you are signing the player up and not just the character.

And to GG nineteen for the 3rd place runner up prize!
Each name musthave a hyperlink to the player's “main class” armory page. This doesn't mean you have to play the signed up comp, but is used to verify the group having 29s, and playing 29. Read 'Format' section for clarification.
I see that this has 29s on it a few times. Just curious if 20s are allowed in this? There's probably a 70/30 ratio of 20/29 in this bracket.
I can understand restricting OP comps/classes in an attempt at balancing the field however if someone wants to play a lower level and lose out on the few spells or Ilvs of a 29 why restrict that too? It's not like the super UP comps/classes are restricted.
Just a question as I feel restricting ppl is a big reason why 19s have died out and I think there could be 3/4 extra teams that might sign up if 20s are allowed.
