  • Hello,

I am sorry for posting yet another one of these topics, yet I didnt want to grave dig a topic and get frowned upon for that as well.

    I currently have these weapons

    1 Shadowfang

    1 Impish Blade

    1 Stillwater Dagger

    1 Skeletal Club

+ i can work on getting the BOAs

My question is what should I use main and off hand? (just got the Shadowfang)

I used Impish Blade MH and Stillwater OF but I heard thats horrible for ambush.

No point in having a dagger offhand... go sf MH boa mace oh or thief's blade OH

Why not a dagger oh? Just curious.

Typically rogues put dagger OH for faster poison application, but 19 rogues can't use most poisons, so you mind as well put a higher-damaging weapon in off-hand. Only poison available to a 19 I think is instant poison, which works on a ppm basis like enchants do instead of an on-hit basis like crippling and other poisons do, so slower weapons are better for applying it anyway.

    ^^ believe that is correct

Shadowfang MH and Venerable Mass OH for a good overall damage and Shadowfang MH with Impish Blade OH for a good Ambush burst

I'm not sure if weapon switching for ambush is worth it, because the instant white hit is a lot higher with SF. I haven't actually compared them myself though.

Well I weapon switch when opening on a hunter or a FC to get the waylay or whatever its called

EDIT but in other instances I will just go SF Mace

I personally like using Impish Blade MH and the McGowan BoA mace OH. But I'm one of the very few.

Maybe as an OH? I'm not sure. I'd probably try to be a bit smarter about swapping weapons, but I find Waylay very useful for those tricky Hunters and Rogues that are trying to escape or are engaging my team's fc.

So I'm not hurting for a Shadowfang you could say.

Shadowfang MH and Venerable Mass OH for a good overall damage and Shadowfang MH with Impish Blade OH for a good Ambush burst

This is false. You want a slow wep in the OH for high burst. The reason being that after you ambush, the slow wep will also hit at the same time, with a possible ~300 white hit, added to your 300-400 ambush. There is NO reason to have an offhand be a dagger. IMO, the only point in equipping a dagger is if you are going purely for waylay procs, or obviously backstabbing(FC kris, but thats just stats).

2 Fangs is currently BiS, be it combat or sub spec, with your best option when only having 1 SF is the BoA mace in the offhand.

You need Shadowfang in MH + BoA mace in OH.

When you get another Shadowfang, throw it in the OH.

And by the way, as a rogue, please learn that the word is spelled "Rogue" and not "Rouge" (which is french for red).

Not trying to be a spelling police, but it's pretty ironic if you're trying to be better at your class and don't even know how to spell the name of your class properly.
