Shadowlands Death's Rising Pre-Patch Event Live This Week
Shadowlands Death's Rising Pre-Patch Event is now live in NA!

  • A new quest chain will lead you to Icecrown in Northrend, where you will discover the events leading into Shadowlands.
    • Completing this chain will unlock dailies in the area that reward Argent Commendation.
    • You can use this currency to buy item level 100 gear, a toy Anti-Doom Broom and a pet Putrid Geist.
    • A side quest will direct you to a new world boss in Eastern Plaguelands, Nathanos Blightcaller!
  • Icecrown will also feature rare spawns of WotLK bosses which drop item level 100 catch-up gear.
  • In the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, the Scourge will once again wreak havoc on capital cities for a short period as well!

Note, if you can't see the millions of people killing Nathanos World boss, switch out of Timewalking/Chromie time.

Also, I couldn't loot it on a 20, seems like its tied to a WQ

Also, it seems like on a 20, I'm getting a different phase than the 50s for Northrend, seems like they are seeing rares/scourge mobs. This maybe have something to do with the quest they pick up. Really seems like its gated for 50s only

Yeah, its something to do with the quest, my 49 and a 50 that hasnt done the quest couldnt see them.
 
Someone who can post on the blue thread should comment, because their own blurb says its available to 48.

For the next two weeks, you can heed the call to fight back against the fallen and protect Azeroth’s inhabitants. The call to arms quest “An Urgent Request” will be offered to level 48 players and begin a storyline in your faction’s capital city where several notable faction heroes will share their reports of the ramifications of Sylvanas’ actions.

Yeah I was thinking about doing it on my 50 main, but was like 'nah I'm good'. As Taliesin would say. "Shadowlands pre-patch event was the climatic culmination of 15 years of master storytelling and digital craftsmanship... no, it was a sh!t show, obviously."
 
Wonder why Hacktivision would make a once in a lifetime Game Event require Level 50...

Not trying to defend Blizz here, but the boost is kinda not even worth it anymore after the leveling changes. 1-50 takes about 6-12 hours maybe. Pre-nerf, 1-120 could take up to 3-5 days /played through pure questing. So we went from about 72 - 100 hours of questing down to 6-12 hours. So pre-nerf, I could definitely this being pushed, but after the nerf, leveling is much, much more in line. Hell, even speedrun leveling is super super fast, down from 18 hours for 20-120 (not including prep time, gather mats, XP pot hoarding), to just over 4 hours (with not as much preparation required)
 
Apparently the quest is supposed to be given to 48/49 characters, and some people are reporting getting it but it says its too high lvl. I would put in a bug report and maybe we will get it scaled down? Or it was purposefully changed and they didn't change it correctly, but i would bug report it anyways. The blurb above clearly states 48.
